I just completed my brake bleeding on my Vsett 10+. I had seen many other tutorial but THIS ONE was by far the most accurately described for each step of way. Also your editing was great. Thank you so much! Just im time for the new riding season starting. Cheers from Montreal, Canada!

How often it has to be change the oil for new in the system ?

5:13 you mention that one should “gently press down on the lever before tightening.” Should we be pressing down completely or just enough to get some resistance?

Very nice and detailed video, thanks for helping the riders!! i have to do this on my Vsett 10+ because of brake feeling "spongy" but i have a little leak on the end of brake banjo. The silver tip that moves on the caliper, leaks some oil when i move it. How do fix this before bleeding the brakes? Do i need new O ring ? Which size is it?
@MaxBlinker Жыл бұрын
Hello,Thank you for the compliments. It could be due to a bad gasket bolt. Try replacing the bolt or gasket. If it continues to leak, a new O-ring will be needed.

Thanks for the video. When finished, is the majority of the mineral oil in the line still the original oil? Do you rebottle the oil from the syringe and the cup after or dispose of it?
@MaxBlinker Жыл бұрын
It depends on the condition of the oil. If it is already a different color than the new oil or there are particles of dirt in it, it is good not only to do the bleeding, but to replace the original fluid with a new one. If the oil is fine and it is just a bleeding, then the fluid is used again.

Hi. I had a scooter shop bleed the brakes but after barely a month, the brake levers are weak. I tried to quickly press the levers and also tying them to a rope during two days to no avail. What can the problem be, do I need to bleed the brakes again? I've got the kit btw

There are 3 options: 1. The shop didn't do it 100% and there are some bubbles left that have now entered the lever mechanism and it doesn't work effectively, in this case it needs to be bleed again. 2. They did it right but the brake system has a protracted fluid leak, often the hose at the handlebar entry gets punctured and it slowly drips inside the handlebar and you can't see it. However, in this case one lever should be ok and the other not, there is very little chance that the leak is on both brakes. 3. If you have ridden a lot in the meantime and abraded the brake pads a lot, the lever engagement will change. This means that if the pads are already thin, the brake lever will engage later. We would try bleeding the brakes, you can follow the instructions in the video and if that doesn't work, you may have worn out brake pads or the problem may be more complicated. In which case we would recommend a service visit.

@@MaxBlinker Thanks for your reply! A short while after my comment, I decided to look into it, It was actually some bubbles left. I attached the cup to the brake lever and pumped until no bubbles came out. Brakes are working perfectly now

Fun fact: This could be a bicycle hydraulic brake, they are exactly the same as on scooters.

None of the pieces fit on the brake lever. Frustrating
