Whitney was on drugs but back in those days people lives were more secretive. Now in the days of social media nothing is a secret. It's sad what drugs can do to a person.
@TheOnlyZiTRO5 жыл бұрын
Exactly
@checkanr1385 жыл бұрын
@@TheOnlyZiTRO drugs is often just a mask for people to hide their real problems behind. people tend to go the easy way and blame all the persons problems on the drugs. it is not that simple. houston said she was abused by her relative dee dee warwick when she was young. we know that people who suffer abuse are more likely to take drugs later in their life. she needed help, i think the best would have been for her to not divorce her husband as she truely needed someone, or maybe find another person to be with her. it is easy to judge and tell what they should have done in hindsight though, the real problem is for anybody to break out of their habits, be it being overweight (caused mostly by bad nutrition and not doing any exercise). drugs are an easy way to hide from yourself and feel good for a short time, but the backlash often is hard. and also not every drug is the same and damages you the same, we need to have more understanding of people with these problems and actually help them instead of condemning them. the same applies to obese people, mentally ill people. if their is no true compassion, we can not help, that is the problem.

Whitney Houston is/was a legitimate ICON. She was also human. Like many of us her life was made up of a series of peaks & valleys - ultimately she left us way too soon. I simply cannot fathom how difficult it must have been for her to have all her challeges/missteps exposed to the world in real time (tabloid coverage of them becoming a cottage industry). Lord, is she missed :(
@pjpredhomme7699 Жыл бұрын
that is a very good take on it. She had such amazing gifts and was a genuinely good person IMO. Was she infallible? hell no - she obviously had a lot of demons that she struggled with drugs. Personally, it comes across in these little videos and the comments by people - they are very protective of her and her image - I suspect she was extremely good at cultivating that in people - and that is just the type of thing a drug addict will use to keep playing the game - it will end up killing them eventually. That is why you see so many of these people end up prematurely dead - they have so many people who will cover for them, will tell them exactly what they want to hear etc etc in the ends up killing them. And the people do not mean it - but that is the insidious nature of addiction. I find it ludicrous reading some of these posts about she was good / bad - that has nothing to do with it. she clearly had a very wonderful heart and spirit - it comes through loud and clear - but when that person is an addict they are also a monster - really in her case both are true. I can respect the religious followers who she is very appealing to but their view of the world is completely childish. complete detached from reality all about we good people - believers and everyone else - very unappealing

The bottom line. She got into the industry to sing, not to be famous. She was extremely bipolar. She couldn’t handle not being able to just live and not be scrutinized and bombarded every where she went. She started self medicating those issues long before she met Bobby. It wasnt Bobby’s fault. They just enabled each other. Bobby loved fans and interacting with the public, so that made it even harder on her to stay off to herself in public. Mood disorders get worse with age too and harder to hide. Her comeback at the Grammys was the worst thing she could have done for her mental health. Of course she relapsed and overdosed. She needed heavy counseling , proper rehab. She would have been best off going the Dave Chappell route. He recognized show business on a grand scale would end up killing him too

True we loved her voice but nobody really cared to know or accept her for who she was... Everyone heard that angelic voice and felt her personality should match... Whitney was genuinely a down to earth person who wanted her peace and family life private but nobody thought about it that way it was whatever they could say in these interviews to get viewers and money

i saw lot of storys in youtube about whitney. this one is really unfair. the people talking about her without respect. everyone who is in there. they talking about her like she ''must be an angel'' without any mistakes. my god. whitney was just an human with blood. what they thinking about? and we come behind that she got an problems with drugs. ok. but it doesnt mean that people can talk about her like this wendy (who she is? a star or what? i dont think so). whitney is the most beautiful woman i saw in media. she is the queen of every woman. that will be forever. (that she got big problems, is a sad fact.) but it doesn't change the meaning of her aditute and her talend that once grow in her. She got an amazing lovely familie around. she just got some wrong people around her thats desitiny. that's all!

Why shouldn't Whitney have gone on the spiritual retreat in the desert in Israel? I didn't like the tone of the commentary during that part of the doc. I'm not sure what they were trying to imply.

I felt that too!! I mean what better place could you go to for healing? Where Jesus was baptised and buried!! Wow, I would have broken down too!! That was the Holy spirit moving in Bobby, when its there you don't push it aside, it will brake that willfulness!!

I believe she was also personally grieving over her dad death. No good byes. She was a daddy's Baby. I think if she was more honest and open to the truth she would've saved her career. She was battling inner demons and you can't do that ALONE. And people around her were weak. She needed a very strong person around her. All they want was her money. They didn't care much about her self destruction. Well.They should've taking better care of the golden goose. Sometimes jail save lives. See she kept getting away with things. Too much help can destroy a person. Hard love can save a person. BLESS her. She will be missed terribly

This is hard to watch. I remember watching all these VH1 "documentaries" back in the day, completely oblivious to how cruel they were because cruelty was already so pervasive in our culture. Now watching this, I realize how much empathy we lacked during this era. It's disgustingly exploitative to talk about this talented, beautiful woman's body and life in this way. RIP Whitney Houston. Thank you for your gifts and sacrifices.

Bless Whitney and her beautiful family who is surviving. It is such a struggle still for Bobby. Prayers for strength and healing to the whole family. What a lovely elder half brother the late Bobby Krissy has, along with her half sister La Princia who really misses Bobby Krissy, and of course Whitney, whom all the Brown children loved.
