question for ya, how are you planning on sealing up the rear electrical so it doesn't get damaged by water/debris? and the rear hatch lid so it doesn't pack up with dirt? and not running a timing belt cover with open wheel wells its a very good way to take out the timing belt. Were you planning on fixing these potential issues or?

Instead of removing rear window and replacing with lexan, you should remove the side windows and make air scoopes. This will force air into the engine bay.

The problem with running the BMW water pump at 100% all the time is the pump will grenade itself. BMW found this out and their solution was the controller. The left the pump alone and programmed the controller so that based on numerous variables (engine load, ambient temperature, even ride height) the pump speed varies. Truth. This is why BMWs suffer cooling problems in hotter areas. In Germany, their average high temp is like 76-80°F at worst? With 103°F being their record high *ever*. While Texas average high is 96°F, and 120°F as their record high. So BMW service centers in southern states are super busy, where they're much slower in Northern states :D (I worked at Classic BMW in Texas)

Great video as always! Just to point out, its not recomended to run that pump 100% I would recomend any dc pwm motor controller and wire that to pin 2 and 3. And just 1 and 4 to power and ground. It wont last that long with it running 100% its really powerful :) Have one of those in my ev build :)

Amazing build. #1 - Remove side windows and install air intakes to help cool the engine. #2 - Front and rear wheel wells to help keep the engine and engine bay clean and debris free. #3 - Undertray for protection. #4 - Roof scoop (again to help with engine cooling). #5 - Vertical 10" (or larger) touchscreen head unit that can monitor car/engine (ie Torque app).

I also would close the gap in the floor behind the engine and also in the front underneath the fuel cell and battery. You will avoid that air get's stuck in both cavities and slows it down. Guide the air of the intercooler down (or better up through the hood) and seal off the rest of the underbody.

The car is looking amazing, one thing that worries me is the whole firewall rollcage cross section, it seems way too overkill for a 75% road car and 25% track car at the expense of rear visibility, if it was me i would have looked into a non permament solution so that if needed it could be installed but for normal road use you would get the same visibility as stock, or maybe just not using the cross part, only the rollcage going around. Also the idea to remove the rear window is definitely functional but again, it is more suited for a dedicated track car, you can't get the same visibility of the glass on any plastic panel, specially if it heavily angled like this is, plus it won't look as good from the outside as actual glass. You can make some air intakes behind the doors and add some vents at the back, it doesn't matter if it is carbon fiber, fiberglass or even metal, you can paint over it and get an insane finish that is functional. Then again, i'm not trying to say it is a bad car, more like the opposite, it's looking fantastic for now and is made super solid with some great engineering applied to things like the rear suspension, i'm just pointing out that some of the decisions made are either sacrificing looks or street usability. I don't live in the us so i can't participate in the giveaway but i would assume that anyone who wins it will want to be able to enjoy it on the street and maybe even use it as a daily, and you can do it but it will be more like taking a full on racecar on the street

for rear visibility, simply install a rear view mirror dash cam. I have them in 4 of my vehicles. Rear cam makes it a digital rear view mirror. Very useful for my SUV's and my truck with a canopy on it. Far better visibility than looking though the rear window, and way better vision at night.
