Ginkelse Heide
Op de Ginkelse Heide valt van alles te beleven. Bezoek de schaapskooi of volg een van de gemarkeerde wandel-, fiets-, mountainbike- en ruiterroutes. De heide is ook de beste plek om te vliegeren!
Iedere dag gaat de herder met zijn schapen vanuit de schaapskooi de hei op. De schaapskooi is vooral in de lammerentijd zeker een bezoek waard. Op de zandgrond is een grote variatie aan boomsoorten aanwezig, zoals Grove den, Zomereik, Amerikaanse eik, Beuk, Lariks en Douglas. Het bijzondere natuurgebied is het leefgebied voor veel edelherten, wilde zwijnen en reeën. Ook biedt het ruimte aan bijzondere diersoorten als de nachtzwaluw en zandhagedis. Ieder jaar zijn hier in september de nationaal bekende airbornelandingen, ter herdenking aan de luchtlandingen tijdens de Operatie Market Garden op 18 september 1944.
