I send from Brazil a big thank you for sharing such deep knowledge. I am an old jeweler who due to vicissitudes had to change profession... Your generosity and high spirit brings me closer to my essential art again... Thank you, Mr. Hallan.

Love these videos! They are very entertaining. Imagine this being aired on tv at prime time, what a world it would be.

I actually was going to do inlay into iron(german butter iron) in the near future. that little side note about iron is really helpful!

The "ken" chisel is what western engravers call a "flat" or "scorper". They're used exactly the way you demonstrate for background removal, and flush or raised wire inlays. They're also used for "brightcut", and "flare cut" engraving, and lettering.

When we do the wire inlay film using this chisel you'll see a subtle different in how it functions compared to a flat scorper I think. But as a basic flat cutter yes, they're similar.

I've watch this video so many times and practiced for hours ,then I inflated a silver turtle into a copper base ,for a dear friends Birthday. She was so surprised and cried over the necklace

What happened to part 6 a? I can only find parts b & c? I would love to know more about making the depression/hole for the inlay. Are the walls vertical or is there a slight undercut in conjunction with the raised edge that will eventually get hammered down to lock in the inlay? Thank you for all that you gladly and willing share with us!!

A HD crash meant we lost that film so we're going to have to reshoot it next week.

Strongly considering becoming a patron since the forum is down. Wanting to get started in uchidashi and engraving but I have no idea where to start tool wise. Does your patreon have info on how to make or where to get supplies?

The forum will be up again soon, when I have time to to do a complete platform upgrade, but it's a lot of time and the forum costs money to run. The Patreon channel is supported by less than 200 people, it's these supporters who make help us keep going to make these films for everyone.
