Alan, great job. Grew up in Montreal with Gino. Question for you , Mark, Graham or Enzo ? My view Graham in studio, Mark live. But I loved Enzo the most as I new him. The live montreal performance of B to B is in my soul. Of all the tracks , which one did you find most challenging ? Love your work and would be great to see you live.

Thank you, Gord. I started banging on pots in the kitchen very young. Like 4 years old. I had a small kit at 6 years old. Then a Ludwig Oyster kit at 9 years old. Started playing at dances in Elementary School then through High School. Dad thought drummers were a "dime-a-dozen" so he pushed me to forget about a making a career out of it so I never went any where with it. Looking back, he couldn't recognize drummer talent. So who knows what would have happened if he would have been supportive and pushed me to be a better player. I'll never know.

Great job, Alan! You do Craney proud. He was one of my big drumming inspirations as well. I regret that I never had a chance to meet him. Did you ever hear him tell the story of his auditioning for Vannelli? It's rather amusing. Craney said it took place in Gino's living room with his family standing around, so he felt a lot of pressure. And I can't remember the rest of the story, but Craney says that some of the toms were the size of 'tea cups" making it extra hard to hit them precisely. The story is probably online if you haven't already heard it. Keep up the great work, Alan!

(laughing) Yeah, I had heard that story about Mark's audition, at Gino's house, in front of Gino's family. That had to be un-nerving. But, he got the gig and recorded flawlessly on the BTB album (on Gino's Ludwigs) and the rest is history. I hadn't heard the part about the size of the toms, though. Must have been 6" 8" 10"... Those 6"ers are tough to hit in the center, especially in a complex fill. I know when I play my Octobans I have to really concentrate. Thanks for the kind words, Steve. Have a great day!
