Oh I definitely have gotten better. Before watching Gino I struggled on just about every boss. Had to use summons on freaking Godrick. After watching him play though I no joke got good. I can now beat the game in sub 2 hours and first try most bosses while under leveled and not getting hit. I’m an extremely visual learner so just watching and listening helps me learn a ton.

It's just so cool to see all the awesome weapon types explored, it's really fantastic content. Also while I'm here, I absolutely love the editing style, the pop ups that detail what everything does are actually incredibly nice and on the runs where you outline goals/the procedure for making a specific weapon good also make the run that much more interesting. Rykard is an absolute menace for any kind of ‘weapon restriction’ run because he was designed to be fought with the serpent spear. Using anything else just turns the fight into a horrible slog.

I have accidentally cheesed the Ancestor Spirit. It was doing its phase into the ground teleport thing and i was rocking duel weilding 2 Golem Halberds and did a jump attack as it was close to done with the animation and it ended up teleporting somewhere under the ground and then fell to its death. It probably needs testing on ways to get it to happen consistently but its interesting. My theory is that either the weapons being what they are did a stagger thing which caused it to mess up where it teleported, got a riposte built up which caused the teleport malfunction, or it was specifically the timing with a downward ground slam type jump attack. It may be worth seeing if the Lions Claw skill does the same or is even more consistent than jump attacks since it does all three parts of my theory phenomenally so, yeah

My main takeaway from these challenge runs is this: Get golden vow, flame grant me strength, and howl of sharibri. Then literally anything in the game is viable when you’re basically doing double damage, especially when you’re a no-hit God like Gino. So it’s hard to say if the weapons are viable when every build is basically a “faith buff and dodge roll” build.

Out of all the souls game my favorite dragon bosses have to be placidusax and fortissax, midir is up there but I've never beaten it. A cool idea they could've done for a torch reposte would have been slamming the torch in and making it burn hotter for extra damage.
