We all knew it. It was a HUGE hit. This performance was April, 1997. The song was banging in the late summer/fall of 1996. If anything, the audience was busy staring at him (especially the women).

Right. Different regions would get new music at different times. So it definitely looks like his first performance. It didn't take long but he won them over with his confidence and stage presence.
