GIO Rail Train crossing Merritt St in St. Catharines, Ontario

So this is our first video in about 7 months since our last video.
It been difficult for us during that time, but we are getting back on our feet.
We are hoping we will have good fortune in our new town of St. Catharines.
We heard railfaning is not so great around here, but one thing St. Catharines does have is a rich railway history.
Hopefully this will provide an interesting twist to our current content.
Anyway we hope you enjoy our first train video from St. Catharines.

I wouldn't say you were in the way, but certainly had more problems with all cars stopping to turn. It was kinda weird spot to stand at.

Conductor had to check to make sure the tracks were still there? Then I was wondering why he didn’t get out to flag the crossing, because the signals didn’t start until the locomotive was on top of the crossing.

rule states the AWD's must be active for 20 seconds before traversing over. or possibly special instruction.

Thank you! From what I've been told. The train arrives around 9:30am. Monday's, Wednesday and Friday in the Merritton area of St. Catharines. Which this train came exactly at 9:30am Wednesday, but could have been my lucky day. I know other places, the trains don't always come in sych a consistent manner. I'm hoping I'll see them again this Friday at the same time. The only information I came across was they tend to work out of Port Colborne. I hope I'll to eventually to cover the entire region time permitting of course.

Yeah it's a real shame. I was hoping they would still be going to Kemira Papers, TIW and Trenergy. It seems like those places are still open, but have moved away from rail service?

Those are some nasty looking Rails but not the worst I've seen.

I remember Guelph Junction Railway just south of Stone Road that had tracks look like these one, but your right lots of other places have worse tracks. I have a feeling it not going to getting better here.

I guess trillium doesn't run on these tracks anymore. Gio Rails is the railway servicing the tracks in these parts, nowadays. I can't say I know when it changed happened, but it did.

gio known as GIO railway holdings is a company founded by a former CP manager, Mr. Gionet. In 2018 they purchased trillium for around 5 million dollars, but extact amount its not specified. They changed there name back in January, and in February, They started leasing this new locomotive from jlcx, which is a rebuilt gp35. I hope they replace all the lights in wellend with leds

@@siycles I hope now that my kids are back in school. I'll have a better opportunity to make it to port Colborne since this seems to be the hot spot for trillium / gio trains. Of course my over all goal is to visit every active crossing in the area if and when I can.
