Will Herondale broke my heart in the books, and now you're breaking my heart because this song's melody and lyrics explain him perfectly and describe to the T all the suffering and torment he had to endure because of the curse. You're a beautiful composer and you have tremendous talent! Keep writing and singing, you're going to be going places!

I feel the need to add is that if clockwork prince was a movie, I could hear this song as a stripped down piano instrumental under every scene that involves Will not being able to express his love to anyone, and not believing the love they have for him, and then this song being in the end credits right after he confesses to Tessa and she breaks his heart. God, I'm not getting over how much I love this song. And I'll admit, I'm a little jealous I didn't think of or write it myself. You are incredible!❤

I think Cassie did it on purpose, the curse reflects 'to love is to destroy and to be loved is to be the one destroyed'. There's a lot of unobvious parallels in the books and if you look close enough then you're just like "how have I never noticed that before?" (One of my favourites is probably the star on Jace's shoulder that Will got when he slept with Tessa and now all Herondales have it...I can just imagine Jace asking Tessa how he got it and Tessa choking and being like "I don't know?" her voice rising an octave...that's something I want to see XD)
