This was a great mashup up traditional and mod. The staging, choreography, costumes, and lyric changes were magic. Ms. Channing and Tommy Tune knocked it out of the park here.

"Mom and Dad, I just lots of hippies on the Dean Martin Show! All this time you had been telling us they liked rock music, but It turns out they're really into Carol Channing and Jerry Herman show tunes! They're also seven feet tall!"

She might have been Broadway, but she nail this performance to the halls of musical herstory. When you're that good you can sing anything and sound good. This one is musical gold.

This song IS a Broadway show tune. It’s from Mame, originally sung by Angela Lansbury.

Loved Carol Since A kid in the sixties. I saw her in her farewell tour as Dolly. Both Carol and Barbra Streisand played Dolly but so many don't know Pearl Bailey also play Dolly in an all black cast of "Hello Dolly" IT WAS GREAT. SAW IT IN DALLAS. GROOVE ON CAROL

I saw Carol in "Legends" with Mary Martin, maybe 1990- I'm guessing. Carol wore something similar in "Legends." She was like Lucille Ball. Their legs were godawful, like flagpoles, but they loved to show them. They were loveable, talented women, so whatever they did, people loved.

I have always been a big fan of Miss Channing since I saw here in Throughly Modern Millie thanks to you tube I have sourced gems from here career. She is always such a joy. As a point of interest the evening coat she wears at the beginning is extremely similar to the one wore by Doris Day in Do Not Disturb although Miss Day had a dress that matched the lining. Could it be the same coat?

That's Dean Martin picking her up at the end. It has to be his variety show. From the looks they gave the hippies I'd say 1969.

Jared Carey. I appreciate your expertise in the musical field. You misinterpreted my meaning by suggesting you watch Garland. I simply meant that she could interpret a song like no other. Carol could carry a tune, she could sell the song. I grant you that, but her voice is irritating, grating on the nerves. Just my opinion. You are certainly entitled to your opinion. It would be a very dull world if we all thought & looked alike. I agree with your choices of great singers, although Beyounce is good, I don't consider her great. As far comparing singing styles of Garland & Carol, why not? If you are a singer irregardles of your singing style, genre, or expertise it should pleasing & entertaing to the listener. I find Carol annoying to listen to & her overacting & phony sugary nice persona irritating. JMO. I'm sure there are performers you dislike. As far as Dietrich, while considered an actress (badly IMO) She did sing in several of her movies and had a nightclub act singing, I believe. By the way Susan Boyle should be on the list of great singers.
