Dance of the Vampires (Broadway) Finale

It's Halloween 2020. Life is hard. We need something fun. So...here is the finale of the all too brief Broadway version of "Dance of the Vampires." If you were alive in the 80s you'll recognize the tune. And seeing Times Square turned into a haven for the undead...is very on brand for 2020.
It features Mandy Gonzalez, Max von Essen and a 'surprise' appearance at the end.

@@yafawi3729 One of the best running shows in Germany and german spoken countries. The Broadway Version has not much to do with the „Original German Version“ on wich Polanski was included. The Brodway Thing is so bad because of Crawford. He wanted more Glitter, different Backgrounds, Krolock should be more funny. etc. And thats why it didnt worked. I feel like this was two shows doing battle with each other on the same stage. One was about sexy vampires, the other was a comedy. The show couldn't figure out which it wanted to be and tried "both", so they were constantly fighting with each other. I think if they had merely advertised it as "dance of the vampires: the funny, sexy vampire musical", people might have understood it better, gone in expecting what they'd get, and it might have done better in the box office.

The whole thing just feels lazy, like no one was putting in the effort; which I can understand, given the context of the show's process. The Original Tanz Finale Zweiter, it's a powerful, energy-filled number with hard-hitting vocals and simple but effective choreography.

Wonderfully high quality version of this video. Gionmusic, would you be so kind to let us know where/how you got this? The three DOTV clips you posted to KZbin are different from the version of the pro-shot I know (different cuts, way better video and audio quality). As the pro-shot was a little over an hour long, I wonder if the rest is also out there, in this great quality. Would love to hear back from you.

OMG!!!..was haben sich die Produzenten dabei bitte gedacht. Schiefer Gesang, liebloses Spiel. Entweder man übernimmt das Original oder man lässt es bleiben. kann mir keiner erzählen das das ein Erfolg war. Und was sollen die Kostüme? Matrix vs. RockyHorror?

Seh ich auch so... optisch total uninteressant und der Gesang klingt als ob sämtliche Sänger keine Lust auf das Stück haben... das ist keine gute Produktion. =/ Kein Wunder, dass das in den USA nie groß geworden ist.

Thanks. I did grab several broadway complete shows over the years. I’m looking for a complete soundboard or the entire broadway pro shot. The best that exists at the moment is fan shot thats edited together with pro shot. Have you see either of those by any chance?

Oh god. That's awful. Saw the musical in Hungary and Germany and both are lightyears ahead. That's empty. Someone in the comments wrote that it's like a high school play and damn it's right. The choreography, the costumes, the singing... Why did they do this to a masterpiece?

In der Broadwayshow haben viele der Songs keine an die Show angepassen Texte sondern oft die originalen Songlyrics. Für die deutschsprachige Urversion wurden die Texte ja komplett neu geschrieben anstatt einfach nur übersetzt. Only that last number was set in nyc (a wink to it happening a stone’s throw from the Times Square locale parodied in the number). As for why was it so bad (and it was. Oh it was gloriously bad.
