A couple inches above average height, but Fed and Novak come from very tall ethnic groups, so they aren’t that much taller than average. Giorgi is extremely fit and hits the ball well, but she just can’t beat the female beasts who are in the top couple percents of female height.

@@christophermarcek9910 If average male height is somewhere around 5’10” (especially if you exclude Southern Asia and India which don’t produce many pros and drag down the average height), male tennis greats are around 6’1”-6’2”, this is maybe top 20% of height. On the other hand, top female tennis players are in the top 5-10% of height. A player like Giorgi is inconsistent because the taller players she faces crush the ball compared to the Cibulkova’s of the world. While most players make more in endorsements than on the court, her career earnings certainly pale in comparison to her endorsements

@@christophermarcek9910 You’re an idiot. She’s an excellent ball striker and certainly one of the fittest women of her era. But 5’6” 110 lbs just can’t compete with 5’10” 160 lbs. Hard to win tournaments when you have to beat the serves and power of the -vics and the -ovas. Just compare the men and women. Zero men carry the bulk of some of the women. Hitting the ball hard is more valuable than chasing it down on the women’s side. On the men’s side, the Wimbledon dominant servers are 6’6”+ but they just can’t compete on the other surfaces because they don’t have the mobility. Giorgi can do everything in her power to get better, but trying to hit winners against opponents hitting 10-20% harder than her isn’t happening.
