Beautiful. In the figures at the foreground with their backs turned, I can see a Byzantine influence here. Giotto has often struck me as a sort of 'bookend' from the earliest Christian representations of Christ and the various stages of His life, to the Renaissance.

In this fresco, Giotto moves out of Byzantine style completely. Scene kzbin.info/www/bejne/pn6Yq3Z6rJ2kqac is wonderful, a masterpiece of highest order... I wouldn't call this style naturalism, more like psychological realism
