My mother introduced me to classical music as a baby. You may think that unremarkable, but for an infant on the south side of Chicago (U.S.A) it was rather unique. Classical music, especially that of the classical period, has become my melodic passion. I thank God for my mother. She was a truly wonderful human being, my best friend, and I miss her terribly. Listening to compositions, such as these by Paisiello, make me think of her.

I hear late Baroque, I hear Mozart in these works but it matters not what we call things! Paisiello offers us some lovely music that without KZbin many of us wouldn't even know existed. My collection of music includes numerous examples of operas, symphonies, concertos previously unheard or known about for more than 50 years, that are now part of my regular viewing and listening. In the Covid era, I feel lucky to "go" to a concert any time I like and with a glass of wine or other suitable refreshment, and do so for free! Long live the enjoyment from music seemingly in nobody's repertoire.

Wow! I knew Paisiello from a few works, but as soon as I heard the opening chords, I was hooked. What a joy it is to listen to him!
@zvonimirtosic61714 жыл бұрын
So which chord in particular did you like? Classical composers never wrote down "chord" notation. You were not hooked on "opening chords", but on the opening *movement* in a few opening measures. Chords are invisible parts of harmony here, and you can't even tell them by ear, because chords do not tell where the movement should go.

Mozart's music definitely has more lyricism and dynamism, with a little less pattern-running than this does in places, i.e. repeating a pattern a bit too often. But it's very fetching in places, and I definitely thinks this deserves a greater airing. (I would not yet rank him though with the recent discovery of Zelenka, whose counterpoint is almost Bachian in its chromaticism in places and has a much richer texture of ideas...)

@marco1959ish4 жыл бұрын
