I can't forget the evening in Calgary, Ab, Canada, in 1996 when B Maharaj Ji all of a sudden, started dancing in front of 4-5 of us at the Hindu Temple of Calgary, when visiting the local temple in his spare time . He had come to Calgary to perform on the request of Art-Center, there. He is jolly nature and very good in singing and playing harmonium and tabla too. I feel lucky to have seen him and Bhimsen Joshi Ji too ( singing) in ditto settings in Toronto, Ont., Canada in 1987 as well.

I am very much touched& tearful watching the two great LEGENDS Girija Devi & Birju Maharaj together performing with the same youthful zest at this age 🙏🏻🇮🇳 It took me to walk through the lane of nostalgia,when I got the chance at age 13 to perform in Pandit Birju Maharaj& Ustad Zakir Husain's program,after I passed Katthak Visharad .My Katthak solo was standing on the edge of huge pital Thali of Roti(paraat),with water jar on my head& two lightened diyas in my hands.200 ghungrus in my feet ..then afterwords you have to lift the plate with feet & make the plate stand & balance everything& roll it round once ..finally ends with Tatkaar ततकार 🙏🏻after the performance my teacher & Sir were so happy & they blessed me, pampered me a lot because I could make it without any mistake,which I was very scared of balancing🙏🏻 Maharaj ji patted on my back & said , शाब्बाश बेटा, बहुत खूब भगवान की बच्ची बहुत तरक्की करेगी...I am so greatful to My teacher told me that, he didn't teach this nrutya to any student in last 25 years,bcoz they give up in the middle due to injuries,blood oozing from toes of feet..But,I didn't give up bcoz I was mentally prepared & my leggs were strong due to being NCC best cadet🙏🏻🇮🇳 .It was a hard work from both sides teacher & student..& of course my Parents too 🙏🏻 Unfortunately later on due to my very busy medical proffession, I couldn't do much justice to Katthak Nrutya by doing stage performance s which had been so very dear to my heart 🙏🏻🇮🇳 Younger generation must take Indian classical dances & music,the LEGACY ahead.It keeps you physically, mentally spiritually healthy 🙏🏻🇮🇳 Yehi meri भावपूर्ण श्रध्दांजली Bhavpurn Shraddhanjali to the LEGEND Master Pandit Birju Maharaj ji. His priceless contribution to the world 🙏🏻May his soul rest in Peace🙏🏻💐🔥🔱🇮🇳
