Everytime I heard that song it draws me to tears. I wish mom still alive, for me to pay her back for the things that she have done for me, for raising me like her own flesh and blood. Sometimes being a mom never comes from blood but by heart. I miss also my Papa or my Tatay in Filipino who's in the Philippines. It's really hard to live without Mama and Papa. To all the viewers out there let's pay back ang love our parents until the time that they will leave this earth! As what written in the 10 commandment says "Honour thy mother and they Father". And if you look at the meaning of the song from a cultural perspective it is very Asian/Filipino. The idea of giving back, taking care of your parents, supporting them. In the Philippines, it might mean giving them monthly allowance, building them a new house. Just letting them rest and share in your success in life and also in the Philippines there is a saying a person who doesn’t know how to look back where he/she came from (humility , gratefulness) is worse than I think something that smell rotten or bad. So the boys are really family oriented and have been generously sharing their blessings and success with their families and spend a lot of time with their families

The 3 meaning of MAPA 1st - MAPA (MAP in english) 2nd - MA = MAma (Mother) PA = PApa (Father) 3rd - MA = MAta (Eyes) - PA = PAa (Feet) Mother is the eyes and Father is the feet, the mother teach you how to see the world and the father teach you how to walk and he gives you some advices. " if you don't let water of the bucket at some point it will overflow" the song reminded me of my gramps when we would take care of him after school cuz my ma and pa were at work, most of my sibling and i were still in gradeschool and half his gramp's size. he had alzheimer's so we would assist him a lot, going to the bathroom, bathing, changing his diaper, eating, and constantly cleaning after him. sometimes we would come home , and a huge code brown spread all over the house would greet us at the door. we would feel frustrated but ususally just keep it to ourselves thinking "oh well it can't be helped".we understood why he is the way he is so we just got used to it, but the smell is the only thing that i did not got used to tho. but we do it anyway cuz we love him. i love my family.

Not sure if others have said this already here but this song is one of the favorite songs students sing at graduations to their parents for helping them get where they are in life( There are many videos from schools with the kids singing this at graduation ceremonies here on YT ) The Philippines are number one with making advertisements / songs that make you tear up :)
