Never heard this before, and I think of myself as a Prefab Sprout connoisseur! It takes me back to feelings I had when I first heard them… and thenI went to live near Witton Gilbert for 7 years, teaching in a place Paddy knew well, with a couple of his former classmates. This is excellent!

There were plans for such a collection around the year 2000, from Sony in Japan, it was to be a 2-cd package called "Hidden Sprouts" - the project had gone quite a long way when Paddy McAloon made a visit to Japan and was given a closer look...and he swiftly nixed it. :( There is an unofficial edition of that one with the same title minus the final -s, but it's ultra-rare and hard to find. See Discogs.

@@adrianabustamante2860 Hola ,Adriana .Si, así fue y durante mucho tiempo, incluso creo que fue fusional y también creo que el tono romántico de las composiciones de PREFAB SPROUT asociado a la genialidad de Paddy tiene mucho que ver y luego no sé por qué. es decir, se acabó, solo ellos lo sabían pero es una verdadera pena, me pareció muy conmovedor y fundamental para el Grupo. Paddy empezó a tener serios problemas en los ojos que le hicieron sufrir el martirio (sigue siendo así, creo que a pesar de las operaciones y la terapia) y cambió, pudo haber jugado en su relación, es posible. Me recuerdan un poco al amor que existió entre Paul y Linda McArthney excepto que para ellos duró hasta el final y la desaparición de Linda. Hola a casa y buena suerte, Fan de PREFAB SPROUT.

For so long, Mr. McAloon & Miss. Smith looked like the perfect couple. What the heck happened? All I know is that until recently, Miss. Smith worked at the Sage. Mr. McAloon wears consummately wacky suits, sports a cane, has three children and lives in County Durham. Yes: It is nosey but, fans deserve a little background information every know & then. Even if that information is a simple denial or confirmation concerning certain allegations. It's not hard. It needn't involve paparazzo, either.

They split up sometime between Jordan the Comeback (1990) and Anrdomeda Heights (1997) and both found other partners - Paddy married Victoria, whom he met in a record shop, and Wendy had a child with someone else. So far as I am aware that is all there is to know, nothing else about their break-up or subsequent personal lives has ever been made public.
