I love how Lucas genuinely cares about Maya enough to see something is still wrong and he is there to comfort her and make sure she's OK.....he senses that she is still upset about something and he wants to make it better. They changed her clothes back, but she's still not quite Maya yet and he wants her to know he is there for her. Riley is just being obnoxious and mean....like "oooh the REAL Maya has to cause trouble to prove she's really back....like STEALING from her mother, setting off the fire alarm and doing things even real Maya would NEVER do"....instead of, oh I don't know....TRUSTING HER FRIEND.

Her feelings were hurt because her so-called "best friend" thought that the REAL Maya was someone who would steal money, set off fire alarms and stuff like that.....DESPITE Maya repeatedly telling Riley that she was innocent of doing these things. And even now when she goes to do what Riley expects of her....she can't do it. Instead of destroying the park, and beating up her old friends, she instead chose to make the park beautiful again. To give it hope. THAT is the true Maya.

No, what happened before wasn't stupid, what happened afterwards was stupid. Maya didn't become riley by getting good grades or changing her clothing style. Maya had bad grades before because she there was no one to teach her..and her home life was a mess. Her dressing sense is frankly..like..any teenager has gone through multiple dressing styles through the expanse of their teenage hood and yet that hasn't made them lose their core qualities. It was just a stupid way to push riley and Lucas along as the compatible couple (even though they literally don't need that, they already are the more compatible couple and there are hundred different ways they could have done that) by saying maya is riley. I'm a rucas shipper and I admit that's the stupidest thing girl meets world has ever done. They're honestly just insulting rucas at this point, that they have to go through this stupid thing to show rucas as better..even though there are many many many ways to do that. Maya's character development, all in the trash. Riley only ever helped maya, this contrived plot ruined so much of the show. After this stupid thing, they even started dragging down Riley's character acting so ooc, just to make this plot look legit. They ruined riley, maya, rucas and lucaya, right here with this maya changed into riley shebang (this and maya believing before when this whole love triangle started that riley and Lucas are like siblings cause they're alike.. that's again, one of the stupidest things I've ever heard and started the contrived love triangle plot in the first place) Honestly..it's just..I don't think we should blame characters and use points where they act ooc.. because you know if the writers had enough mind as they had before, they wouldn't have made her do it.

We forget that despite being another 'goody two shoes' type of character, that she's really emotionally oblivious and can't often deal with heavy issues that others are so used to that they have stopped trying to talk about them. Her biggest weaknesses are a resistance to change and an impulsive need to feel like everything is going well so she can be happy.

@@StarlightSweetie They took the opportunity of Maya's confusion to their advantage. In this episode Riley said she brought Maya back to have her exactly where she wanted her to be... What is THAT supposed to mean? Confuse her? Make her believe her feelings for Lucas aren't real? Josh in ski lodge uses the same strategy convincing her about how she was feeling for Lucas because she was protecting Riley.

@@peacendpola23 I hate both Riley and Josh. I've never hated any tv characters as much as I hate them, also I don't understand how people can like them or the Rucas and Joshaya ships because of that. I just really can't. I mean can people really not see how manipulative they both are? It blows my mind that some fans are just accepting (Riley's) whole Maya turned into Riley nonsense (and I wont even get into how Riley makes fun of Maya'a home life... I mean, some best friend that is) and (Josh's) Maya did it to protect Riley bullshit... People grow up and mature, they don't turn into someone else. It's disgusting that the writers even went with that and I find it so insulting that they think the viewers will buy it. Maya deserved so much more than a friend that is so selfish and self-centered, and a guy who's stringing her on because his ego likes the idea of someone pining after him. My heart breaks for Maya.
