A once lonely rescued fox named Sherlock loves pouncing and running around all over the place. He's full of joy now and knows that he's loved. But when Meagan just got him, he felt really lonely. That's when a tiny kitten, Gwen, appeared in his life. It took a while for them to get bonded, but now they're almost like siblings. And thanks to Gwen, Sherlock can feel joy again.

People need to understand it takes much much work to have a fox they mark everything with pee they have unlimited energy and need stimulation everyday or they tear everything up. This video shows how cute they are but not the nightmare of raising one. So if anyone does in fact take in a fox make sure you have an outside enclosure for them otherwise kiss the inside of you're home goodbye.

Yes, little Sherlock was rescued from a fur farm earlier this year by Mikayla from SaveAFox, and Meagan from 101 Paws and Claws adopted him, giving him a good home. SaveAFox rescued recently around 500 more foxes from that same fur farm, and Meagan also took in two of those fur farm rescues named Watson and Mycroft. Meagan has given a home to many other rescues too, both foxes and other animals. She's really amazing. 😊

Great video - two animals I adore - cats and foxes. We have several foxes visit our yard with our cats. No problems 💖 Several years ago we had a pair den at the border of our yards where there was a big, thick brush pile The pups were adorable - naughty and curious, and so playful. Our neighbor removed their shelter after they left 😿 The one thing that made my blood run cold was the fur farm thinking Sherlock was not a perfect PRODUCT 🙀

PS: not saying it never happens, but it's rare that a fox will hunt a cat. Kittens, yes. But cats ... Foxes are smart enough to know cats can blind them in a few swipes, and rendering them unable to hunt. Many people confuse foxes with coyotes. Coyotes will definitely take cats, and small dogs.

Wild foxes generally are not a threat to domestic cats. Adult foxes are not that much bigger than adult cats, and cats have have the weapons to defend themselves. Foxes would rather hunt smaller, non-predator prey who can't fight back. Coyotes, however, are a threat to domestic cats.

I got a baby artic fox from some college students who had gotten him from a pet store in florida during spring break. The fox was originally from a fur farm. My cats didnt know what to think about him, but the kittens loved the fox. The fox was not housebroken so i built a cage in the back yard for him. My dog was freaked out when the fox came up to him and begged food from him ( like baby foxes beg food from their mom). But soon they were best buddies. They chased each other around and around the yard until thet were both exhausted. When the dog rested the fox played leap frog over him. The fox grew into a lovely adult. That winter the fox found new ways to escape his cage but always came back. That spring i got sick for two weeks and could not take care of the fox. His cage had been fixed so he couldnt escape. Once i was well enough to get up to check on him i let him out of his cage to play but to my horror he took two steps out of it and collapsed. He was deathly sick and weak. We took him to the vet and the vet said he was heavily infested with whipworms. Apparantly he had gotten them on one of his escapes. In our neiborhood a lot of people have dogs and dont treat them for worms. The whipworms had consumed do much blood from the fox that when the vet tested his blood he found very little hemoglobin in the blood. Vet said he had never seen an animal with such a low amount that was still alive. The vet convinced me to have the fox put down. I held the fox in my arms as the vet gave him the injection to stop his heart. Sfter the first injection my fox still lived. The vet quickly administered a second short. I regretted letting the vet put him down. That little fox wanted to live so bad. The vet had said the only treatment he could have goven him was a transfusion of blood but he was not sure a transfusion from a dog would have helped and anyway, he didnt have a donor available. I wish i had waited instead of letting the vet convice me to put him down. That fox was a fighter. With help he might have lived. He was a Norwegian artic fox. He was a blue phase. Grey all over in the summer and turned white mostly with some grey on his face and legs in the winter. So beautiful. After the fox died when spring came, my son saw a mama fox in the woods near our house with white pups. I wonder if that is why the fox was so anxious to get out of his cage the winter before. I wonder if it was possible for a regular fox to breed with an artic one.

In a month he will be meeting a Watson and a Mycroft from the same fur farm he was born at once their quarantine period is done. Another rescue Saveafox just helped shut down the fur farm he was born at so his parents are also safe as well.

When I lived in the North we had cats and we had foxes coming into our yard. The foxes never hurt the cats, once our cat chased a fox away. Yes, there is a stigma about foxes, but they are such sweet, gentle animals. My husband would be sitting on the lawn chair in summer and the fox would sit down beside him, or follow him around the yard when he was doing chores. I have lots of photos of foxes, beautiful creatures. When it was very hot they would bury their bodies in our thick lawn and sit under the trees. I am a cat lover also, have had cats all of my life. Right now I have a tuxedo rescue cat who is very vocal and affectionate. Animals sense kindness.

Too many SaveAFox, a channel here on KZbin, and a charity devoted to caring for foxes, recently did a huge buyout of one, taking all their foxes. Now, they are trying to raise enough money to buy some land to permanently house them, because they have something like 500, I think.

You should look it up.A mother fox has a litter of kits every other year or so up at the beach in Ocean Grove,NJ.This year they put a fence around them and people came from near and far to see them!!There were 5 babies this year.They really have no fear of people which probably isn't a good thing.Love your stories! 💗

I just sincerely hope that Sherlock's mother was freed as well and that the vile farm was closed forever with the remaining animals being adopted! Fur farming is abhorrently evil beyond words and needs to be banned everywhere completely right now! To everyone, please never buy or wear fur. There is nothing fashionable about wearing the skin of a dead family member of another sentient being on you. I don't believe that foxes are that dangerous to cats, kittens maybe, but my family have 6/7 adopted as stray cats and foxes live nearby and my father actually saw one of our cats actually dab one of the foxes on their backside! And when a fox came into our garden, our cats seemed more of a threat to the fox than the other way around! (The fox went safely back out of our garden, completely fine though)

When I was a kid and a Cat disappeared my Mom would often speculate that a Fox might have gotten it. We lived in a rural area so I never questioned it. As an adult I now know that a predator is unlikely to attack anything close to its own size. Especially as formidable opponent as a Cat. I now think it was more likely a car hit, older cat going off to die, or a Coyote ( they were numerous as well ) that were to blame. All my cats are strictly indoor now. They are also feral kittens found on our property. They don’t seem to mind at all being forced to live indoors with plenty of heat, food, and cuddles. The most wonderful thing is how all animals get along well even when living in close proximity once the need to compete for survival is removed. We could/should learn a lot from them. 💞😻
