Girl Surprised with Gift of Adoption [Tearjerker!]

Ten-year-old Ivey Zezulka learning that she's going to be adopted by her foster family might be the most heartwarming thing you'll see today.
Her foster parents Paige and Daniel recently surprised her with the news that they had finalized plans to adopt Ivey and her biological siblings Kai, 3, and Lita, 2, who had all spent years in foster care.
"She's been living with a question mark of what will happen," Ivey's mom told ABC News. "We love her birth family and she loves them too, but it became (that) with us was where she wanted to be."
Paige and Daniel broke the news to Ivey on a framed note they had wrapped and placed inside a gift box, and they recorded their new daughter's heartfelt reaction to their announcement.
"I'm going to be adopted!" Ivey read off of the note before breaking into tears.
"We love you, sweetie. We'll always be your parents," Daniel told Ivey as both parents hugged her.
"We get to take care of you, protect you and Kai and Lita, too," Paige added as tears streamed down Ivey's face.
The adoption was two years in the making; the family was first approached about adopting Ivey and Kai in 2016. The children were originally supposed to be reunited with their biological parents, a move the Zezulkas supported, but it was eventually determined that reunification "just wasn't (what) was best, (it) was not legally going to happen," Paige told ABC News.
"Ivey is so wonderful and special, and we are so blessed she is our daughter. Sometimes people are afraid to consider older kids, they think they may be 'damaged.' We hit the jackpot. Ivey is so grateful and thankful. (She) tells us we are wonderful parents, and she has gratitude to be in a family, for being safe and loved. She's wonderful and we are so blessed she is our daughter," Paige added.

Now I wear glasses, and when that child, so cute as she can be, starts to cry, tears just splattered onto both lens of my glasses. In Japan it's awful, you go through 18 years of foster care then they release care of you but you can't rent a place to live until you're 20 so unless you find a job that includes room and board or get a scholarship to college you will be homeless for 2 years

@The Green One at what age do we realize the Parents are deeply flawed human beings? Everybody's maturity level comes at different times. Then there was the time when it happened. Back in the 50's-60's you didn't question your authority figures, not without dire consequences. Besides nature didn't like me much either. Still my point is we all want a place to be, to belong to something. I've just never found anything like that. I was happy the little girl found hers. I hoped that her life went well after that.

I would just like to say that I knew Ivy in Elementary school. She was always really kind and had lots of friends. I just happened to be watching videos about kids who were having really happy moments when I came across her story and realized it was the same girl! I won't pretend like I was close to her, as I was the odd kid out in Elementary school, but I'm just here to say that this is my first time ever seeing the clip. Oh my god, I miss that voice. I'm crying right now... This is so amazing! I knew at the time that she had been adopted, but only now did I ever actually understand how big that was. Working as a social service worker, this is the greatest gift of all! Today I was with one of our foster kids, and I took him to his doctors appointment and the nurse came in and he shouted with glee “ I’m getting adopted!” That was the most priceless thing in the world! 😩😩

It really is. So many of us know that we aren't wanted and have given up on being loved. To know you're finally wanted, it's hard not to cry. I never got adopted, and spent my teens waving goodbye to everyone, in those bittersweet moments of "I'm happy you have family" and "please take me with you" Just knowing you're wanted, it's enough to bring anyone to tears.
