How do you embrace single life? You come home, make some tea, sit down in your armchair, and all around there’s silence. Everyone decides for themselves whether that’s loneliness or freedom
@LoveLara3 жыл бұрын
Everyone decides for themselves what feels like freedom or loneliness despite what you describe. I’m married, but he works long hours, lots of days, and picks up any shifts he can cover. So yeah, I can still make a cup of tea, read my fave books, sit and relax. I still feel lonely for doing “free” things because I never see my husband. Even a castle can feel like a cage. Yes, definitely have alone time and enjoy that time for yourself to be with yourself. But if you’re enjoying life alone at all constant hours and have no one to talk to (like hey I read this deeply educated book and want to discuss points of view with someone... oh.... no one is here) how is that freedom? You wind up living in your own head and ultimately going stir crazy. I would know. I’m a stay at home mother married to a workaholic. Sure, he can discuss his rough day with me. But my rough day is the same everyday.
@courtneytrevino93373 жыл бұрын
@@LoveLara I was responding to the question she was asked about being single. I understand your situation and can tell you that, being in a relationship with someone can feel lonely in a completely different way than just being alone feels. Especially in marriage, you have these large expectations, put there by family or romance films and novels and series. Expectations lead to disappointments. But how can you just settle for so little in life? Life is so incredibly short. I’m not advising you to to get a divorce, but consider how different it is when you are single and living alone and have the freedom to be alone when you want and then also have relationships with other people when you don’t want to be alone. You have the ability to entertain others, stimulate and be stimulated by others. In marriage, it can feel you are starving for that stimulation and affection and company. Being tied to someone can feel like you don’t have a relationship with them but you also don’t have a relationship with anyone else. It can be a mindset. Fill your time with so many things that bring you joy you won’t feel empty, volunteer, study, read, have deep fulfilling friendships, learn a new skill, focus on body building and get those endorphins, find things that make life worth living outside of your marriage. Don’t waste the time you have left waiting for him.

@soilgrasswaterair3 жыл бұрын
When majority of these viewers with these demands grew up they never had a camera in their home, and if they did it was to show extended family or look back at when they were no longer small children. This era of social media and people lacking boundaries (parents and viewers), many has lost that children are not these adorable props but actual humans with their right to grow and find their identiies in piece without tons of people offering their ”advice” or ”critique” etc. You’ll see followers literally extending medical/dietician/fashion/how to rein childrens’ moood and behavior advice etc. It’s all very off because people watch it as if they watch a soap opera they can interact with. And they sometimes get very angry if their advice (that no one asked for) isn’t replied to or followed. I’m all for people making money but not at the expense of children who never had a say in it. And it’s tragic when parents claim their kids loves it but they like the camera perhaps and the attention given by the parents while filming, but they are not aware of all the people watching and what they are saying about them. This is still new in terms of the effect have not been seen, but in a few years those who used to grow up online in their parent/s footage for social media will speak out about it. And more laws will form and take proper place in order to protect children. It also affects the attachment when a child sees a camera the parent is talking to but won’t turn their sttention to the child, that is viewed as neglect by the child. It will impact a child psychologically to have to wait for their parents to finish up a monologue with literally a small hand held camera and they do not understand that because all they see is them in the room and their parent no one else. An adult understands because they know what a camera is and does properly. But imagine grosing up with this exclusion you don’t understand very confusing for a child. It messes with their psychology. Google it, lots of psychologists have spoken in concern about attachment issues between influencer parents and their children, and what that does to a child’s attachment style (which it will carry into adulthood and have on going issues with).

Very telling how people are saying she’s being reactive when in reality this is her child and maybe she shared more at first but as a parent it’s up to her discretion to share or not share if she realizes it isn’t safe anymore or that people are crossing boundaries. Indie didn’t chose to be an influencer or to be in videos and people acting touchy about it says a lot to how entitled individuals feel once they get just a bit of access. Anyways, I just have to say that watching this video was truly remarkable and profound for me. As a long-time viewer I obviously don't know you personally, but what I do know is that you have changed (in the best way possible)! I have had the privilege of watching you live your life and grow as a human through your vlogs, chatty videos, make up tutorials and style vids. You’ve given us full access to your inner thoughts, and life by sharing parts of your online friendships (Grace V), past relationships, surviving abuse, struggles with food, mental health and anxiety, family relationships, self-confidence ,and self-worth and I feel like each of those instances of vulnerability are stepping stones to this moment (for me as a viewer at least). Today, as I sit and listen to you talk about being your own best friend, not performing for others, and tapping into your personal divine feminine and masculine energy, coming out, your genuine comfort in your own skin…. I could not be prouder of the woman and person you are becoming! I cannot stress enough how happy I am for you to be on this journey by doing the work needed to resolve childhood traumas, and I am so excited for who you will grow into. All my love,

I really appreciate how open and genuine you are as a person, especially when talking about the break up and being single. I've been feeling very similar as I'm recently out of a relationship and I've always enjoyed my own space, but it's also made me confront certain things about myself that I learned while in the relationship but now I can work on them for the betterment of myself and future, becoming less of a people pleaser and really practicing how to stand by myself no matter what and be true to myself

I think this will be a resurgence for you. A lot happened to you last year and we’ve all had to adjust. I’ve seen quite a few people who are happy to see this side of you and are returning to your channel. It seems like you’ve discovered who you are a little more and it’s refreshing.

I have been following since the BeautyCrush days and it has been incredible following your life for all of this time. It’s insane how much I feel like I relate to you Sam, thanks for being so open and honest. I understand the frustration of social media and being a content creator can be so draining. You got this doll. Xx

Thank you Sammi for embracing your authentic self and being daring enough to express your vulnerability through a platform that is so intrusive and critical. I have been watching you for a very very long time and have enjoyed watching your self-exploration and growth as a mixed young women, a mother, an influencer, all that is you. I hope you continue to give yourself a break and the much needed credit you deserve.

GIRL, I feel you! I love my now partner (literally the most amazing human) but my natural state is being single. I fucking love me time and my own space. It actually takes more adjusting for me to live in partnership but thankfully my girlfriend is extremely understanding of that.
@Jojo-cl6pe3 жыл бұрын
I love the way you worded this! Even though i love being on my own, I kind of feel like my natural state is being with a partner. Perhaps I should just accept that about myself, instead of seeing it as a problem or a weakness.

I've watched you for years - from when I saw you do your ASOS hauls. I've never actually posted on a KZbin video but I really resonate with your video. I was single most of my life as well and you get so enthralled into your relationship that you forget who you are and sacrifice what you're about. I really love your journey and one day was wondering how you were doing and really proud of where you're at. Keep fighting and staying true to yourself. :)
