Jodi Albert before she married Kian from Westlife and became Jodi Egan. Read somewhere that Kian liked her from around this stage but because she was so young, he waited cos he didn’t want to feel like he or other people felt he may have been taking advantage of a young girl just cos of who he is. But anyway many years forward and three Kids later, it all worked out xx

Love that they sing live on the verses but mimed the chorus. The last chorus anneka was playing up to the camera that much she went to mime her line but then decided to stick her tongue to cover up the gaff 😂
@user-ey9uj6vp9s Жыл бұрын
That actually wasn't her line, the "Yeah you know we are the last one standing" line rotates between Annika and Linzi. You can hear the difference in the voices if you listen carefully.

This is such a catchy song. I loved it back then and I still love it now. I think what spoilt it for them was the accompanying video. It was such a complete rip off of the Spice Girls' Wannabe that sadly Girl Thing weren't taken seriously. If they weren't forced into being clones of the Spice Girls and had a completely different video and they might have got to number 1 with this track (No.8 was still a big hit - anything in the Top 10 is considered a big hit, or at least used to be) - and they could have gone on to bigger things. They all had the looks and the voices and their dancing is really good. They should have been allowed to have their album released too. Ridiculous to scrap it after just two single releases. Maybe if they'd been allowed to release their own version of Pure And Simple that could have been the song that really did it for them. It's a shame. Simon Cowell is surely to blame for just trying to make them clones of The Spice Girls instead of allowing them to have their own image. How could they be taken seriously? I mean, look at Jamie Theakston here, at the start and end of their song, making Spice Girls jokes about them!

Pure and simple couldn’t have saved this crap though. Pure and simple only did well because of the Popstars tv hype at the time. It’s actually not a good song lol 😂

They reunited on the reality TV series The Big Reunion back in 2014 and told their side of the story. Was very refreshing to learn the truth from their own mouths about how they were overhyped as a big success in the media before even releasing anything to radio. It was all empty promises from the record company and their management. One thing that was mentioned is how the girls were never that tight knit as a unit and their communication was bad. It was hard to believe them as a solid friends group and so they never had that infectious spark that other successful groups had. At least they got to rewrite their ending during the reunion and not part on bad terms.

If Simon Cowell did promotion the right way for these girls they could of stood a chance. Instead of hyping them up the way he did by doing pre recorded interviews celebrating a number one, I think 8 was a good position for their debut in the charts. With the right promo they could of got number one a couple of weeks later
