Because she thought that her mother in law was beneath her in status terms. This entitled madam was definitely a bad choice of wife and the son couldn't have picked someone any worse to marry.

Rachel is ignorant person who deserves a certain punishment and she got it hereafter. She had been blind her rage, hatred regarding her mother in law for all the time she was married. So she should have evaluated risks, her position in that house, her prospects in her future. If she had analyzed all of that she would have preserved her position, not only was she preserved her status but make her own life, life of her husband, mother in law much more pleasant. Plud she would have conceived that would make her position in that house a lot more concrete. Now she has to conceite that once she would return to the family from where she had to quit. She may have tried to make up, come up with some trick so that she could return to her husband and mother-in-law.

I almost cried for his mom, such a terrible appearance and poor face due to his wife's evil behavior 😢 (congratulations though to Valeria for such persuasive performance 👏). If I was her son, I would not treat my mom like that. Our parents are the most important people in our life; they often make big sacrifices without exchange so as WE not to be deprived of anything. Why does Valeria Fokina play the evil one nearly every time?
