I met you at the Dublin Gymshark pop up this year and it's been the best thing that motivated me to work out at the gym. I didn't have time to explain to you (because it was so busy) that I started working out because I was in a very bad place where I would just go to college and get back home. I would not go out or socialise which made things worse. I decided to join the gym suddenly and it's been the best decision I've made in my life. It kept me leaving my house which helped my mental health. It's been a year since I joined the gym and the only reason I go there is to take care of my mental health and I consider abs ad a nice butt as a 'side-effect', because my priority is feeling happier and better every day from working out. Of course, I've had days or even weeks where I would skip the gym but because of that my mental health deteriorated and this reminded me why I joined the gym in the first place and this motivates me. Thanks for this Whitney! The pressure we put on ourselves is so real. In the last year I was a bridesmaid in two weddings and while it was a big motivator to work out and "stay on track" with my diet, I also restristed myself a lot. I was ecstatic with the results, but the pressure was too much. After the last wedding I gave myself a much needed break, and allowed myself some breathing room to enjoy food and I made spending time with family a priority over making it to the gym during the little time off I had from work. I struggled to get back to a workout routine, and I did start to see my body changing, but that's also when I learned to be kinder to myself. I was still healthy, I moved around a lot at work and I generally ate well. Just because I didn't have that athletic physique I was developing before didn't mean that I wasn't taking care of myself. I had to keep reminding myself that the outer shell isn't the only indicator of health, and I refused to take part in shaming my body any longer. It's not always easy, but I keep at it. I have now taken a more laid back approach to my workouts and it's really working out for me. I don't always go in with a plan but that makes it so much easier to just get myself in there and get going. Having fitness be part of your life can be really great, but it's not a "one size fits all" thing. We should all do what works best for our individual lives and never compare ourselves to others.

I had the same funk from May through August and at first I felt down on myself , but then I realized that because I wasn't in the gym everyday I also wasn't criticizing myself as harshly anymore. And when I got back to the gym I didn't lose strength and I really didn't look any different than when I was going 6x a week. Sometimes we just need to have that breakdown to see what's actually going on. It's refreshing to see your favorite fitness person going through it too because it's important to remember that nobody is perfect,even if their Instagram shows otherwise. Love you Whitney 😘😘

Babe, I gotta say, I started working out exactly one year and one week ago. I began using only your videos, you were my go-to Guru. You helped me and inspired me in so many ways, and you're so very right...Working out started as an aesthetic thing, but it is therapy for me, feeling strong felt more beautiful than how I looked...despite the fact that I LOOK THE BEST THAT I EVER HAVE. Your workouts are so fun and now I mix and match my favorites to build a split that I have a blast doing. I’ve gotten something out of every one of your workout videos, I do myo-reps for hip thrusts every week and I incorporate at least a couple of your lifts into every workout. I love the favorites vids, what I eat in a day etc but at the end of the day you’ve always been my favorite KZbinr because of your workout videos and the variations you used that I wasn’t seeing anywhere else. It’s hard to translate those useful in-depth explanations into Instagram videos. Ive been lifting for 2 years and I’ve honestly seen every one of your old vids!! All 110 😂 I’m not trying to be rude, I think we are just trying to give feedback for the future - the initial comment got a ton of likes for a reason!! those types of vids may feel super repetitive to make but they are so so useful to us ❤️❤️❤️

bulkimg is soo much pressure!!!! I spent 2 years learning about what proportions and foods work best me me and my vegan diet, i learnt what was the best cardio to lifting raitio that makes me happy and i am getting stronger. So yeah the thought of stuffing myself and worrying about extra protein and lifting in the 4-6 range kinda scares me and I just want my journy to be a long lifestyle which is why i love maintaining.

I'm going through a really hard time right now I have not been able to work out in two months due to illness I have to have surgery three times over the next month and my mental health has hit rock bottom. But I know it can only get better it's nice to know we all struggle at some point. You look beautiful xx

Whit u can talk in circles and I’ll still watch but I’m still anxious to see if the celery juice did help with the dark circles I did watch ur previous video when u mentioned the celery juice but I can wait for the month to be over so u can let us know if it worked or not!!! I’m finally getting back on track, I worked out today for the first time in almost a month and it felt great. The holidays always makes me want to eat fun things but I just had it with feeling like I’m not taking care of myself. It’s not even about the way I look, it’s my routine of not moving my body enough and having that me time
