Girlfriend was a very good band. They all sang and had a great sound. Nagisa, rhythm guitarist stepped down from the band for health reasons and then band stopped all activities. Mina is the only active member on youtube that I am aware of. One of the last covers they did was Make You Happy, the same one that Nemophila did a cover of. I believe they went to the same school the members of Scandal went to.

Yes I reacted to Girlfriend, and it got blocked but like what you have done I have started doing something like that and it seems to work. Nice one. I am glad you have done this one they are great.

Perfume is a pretty well-known j-pop trio from Hiroshima. They are sort of Babymetal's big sisters. They are known for their elaborate computer graphic visuals. They have the same choreographer Mikiko as Babymetal. The year Babymetal did Glastonbury Perfume did Coachella. This is a really good cover of the original.

I'm a big Perfume fan, and to see Mina playing and singing this song is really cool. I've watched this before. My band is doing a cover of Perfume's "Edge", which is my favorite song of theirs.

It's a very good cover and remarkably faithful to the original. The drum part has been embellished a bit, which makes up for the guitar and bass not capturing all the synth details from the original. Quite a few Perfume tracks would transfer well from their original EDM form to rock versions - Yasutaka Nakata writes good stuff for all the artists he works with.

You should do more of GIRLFRIEND covers like Nogizaka46 "Influencer" (Not the BAND-MAID one 😆), Kyary Pamyu Pamyu "Fashion Monster" (Amazing bassline 😍) or Daichi Miura "EXCITE". ....I must'a missed this when you put it up; excellent listening & analysis! Hardly anyone remarks on Mirei's drumming because it sounds simple, but there are so many tasty licks and unexpected rhythms -- try 'Figure.' This cover is legendary because Mina invented that bassline from scratch -- nothing like it exists on the original track.

Such an underrated band. Shame they had to disband. As you already identified, Mina is the bassist Davie504 highlighted and her slap is as epic as MISA. Girlfriend is a really tight band. They do a cover of LEMON - and I prefer their cover to the original.

Hello 👋 Wave I don't know if you ever did a video of theirs; but I gave you the rundown of the members and why they broke up on one of your livestreams with Rosie. They did a lot of cover songs at first. However, they also wrote some of their own songs. The two songs that you should check out: 1. Full House (Full Version) MV. Mina tears up the Bass Line in that song. 2. Sky and Blue (Live). They also do a studio version of this song in English as well. Sky and Blue was a theme song for an Anime called "Black Clover." @@gib666 They're both great songs. I just saw ATARASHII GAKKO! in Los Angeles last August at the Roxy Theater. They performed 'Pineapple Kryptonite' and the remixed version. It's a shame that GIRLFRIEND disbanded. I love their 'Fashion Monster' cover as well.

Girlfriend was an awesome band with excellent musicians. unfortunately they recently dissolved the band. A real shame. Mina is an epic bass player. hope she finds a home in a new project.
