Mr D only sired two children at the time and rarely cheated on his wife and he even lived with his twins mother for a time. One of the reasons why he dislikes demigods in general is also because they tend to cheat on or ditch their partner, like Theseus abandoning Ariadne. He is also the god of wine and forced to be abstinent, so the fact that he is basically on cold turkey during the story should be a reason to cut him some slack.

Aphrodite deserves some props in my opinion. She may be slightly judgmental but she does her best to support her kids. She even gave piper the memory erasing potion because she knew that pipers dad couldn’t handle it. She didn’t have to do that but she did because she knows how much he means to piper.

Okay, so I know she's not an Olympian, but let's talk about Nemesis. Straight up F tier if you ask me. I mean, she literally mutilated her own kid. And even then, said kid continued to fight for her honor and stood up for her whenever anyone said anything bad about her, despite how awfully she treated him. Seriously, poor Ethan.

In (kinda sorta) Nemesis's defense, Ethan asked it for himself. He asked for the ability to make a difference, and Nemesis gave it to him for a price, which is her whole thing as a goddess. She did the same with Leo, when he asked for the password to the sphere and she gave it in exchange for a dose of bad luck. Ethan defends her not really because she's his mom, but because he believes in what she represents : a dark sense of equality. Nemesis never cared for the fact that he was her son, she just treated him as she would any other person seeking her help, and Ethan was 100% okay with that. Hell, he supported it. And so it created that mutual respect the two shared, completely devoid of familial affection.

I will say in defense of Hades, even though he was pretty terrible in the last Olympian, he did seem to kind of make up for it in blood of olympus. It doesn't necessarily make his previous actions right, but it shows growth, and it seems like it would be against general godly nature to admit they were wrong and that a mortal child of all people helped them, so I feel like that's worth something

Oh cool I made a suggestion for this in a previous video. I 100% agree with Apollo being the best parent but I do wonder if he would’ve become an active part in his children’s lives if he hadn’t been banished and made mortal. Since that was the argument you used for Dionysus with him being forced to be at Camp Half-Blood. You mentioned that Dionysus did mourn Castor but you forgot to mention that in the Last Olympian he asked Percy to look out for his only remaining son. And with the bitter relationship he has with Percy I think it’s noteworthy that he let go of his pride in asking for his help for the sake of his son. Not saying that makes him the gold standard parent but I don’t think many other gods would’ve done that. Also Athena was so emotionally abusive and manipulative of Annabeth in MoA that I lost all respect for her. I know she was mixed up with Minerva but when she and the other gods are restored we never see her apologise to Annabeth. Never mind feel remorse that she tasked her with a deadly quest that had killed all her previous children. If Hades is marked down for being emotionally manipulative than so should Athena. She is worse. Also Hades turned a blind eye to Hazel. I think that should be noted. Anyway, great video! I look forward to the next

Hades turned a blind eye to protect Hazel. If he starting noticing hazel, hazel would have to be sent down to the underworld. they had one conversation, where she asked him if he was going to take her back, and he said no but thats why hes been ignoring her. So, I think that even though he ignores hazel, hes actually being a good father by doing that because she would be sent down to the underworld if he starting noticed her.

While showing unearned favouritism might be considered a bad parental move I feel in Hazel’s case after dying to save the world and using her second chance to save it again she deserves the special treatment. Well Apollo has been shown to care more even in other books. In Titan's curse he wasn't like other gods, he straight up came to Percy and talked with him to help him. Also Apollo children pray to Apollo while healing and 95% of their prayers actually gets answered which can't be said for the others. So Apollo did care then also. After ToA he just started maintaining a more physical bond with them.
