Never compare yourself to others. Its truly the path to the dark side. You will never be able to reach it. You just have to be your best and that will shine through

Words to live by for sure. It's a dangerous game, comparing yourself to others and all. I think in moderation like many things, it is be okay so long as you seek to take inspiration from others. After all, you need to know what you're doing now and what those who are more far along are doing but in the end, you should always stay true to yourself. I agree completely :D

Okay so I went and watched the show because of this video. Enjoyed it, the writing subverted some of my expectations for the characters particularly Chitose and Kuzu (who was hilarious). As someone who has worked in Japan I could really relate to the commentary on Japanese workplace culture. And it was a great satire on the industry. Everyone involved must have had fun sending up the "types" that are working in the industry. For example the LN writer in the show who had no friends and can only speak in a whisper. Hilarious 😆

Probably one of the best parts about the anime is just how much love and passion was put into it. I love a lot of the different intricacies they show of the anime industry as a person who holds an interest in Japan and how the work force functions over there. I might have been reading too much into it but I know Japanese companies are generally pretty idealistic with their members and how they have the habit of always trying to seek out the most prime candidates straight out of college. I saw a lot of that between Kuzu and the man in the grey suit (I can't remember his name, only that they always said GWAHAHAH). I definitely haven't worked there but I have studied some of the business etiquette and how Japanese work places function, it's very interesting. Honestly, props to you for being able to make it in the Japanese work force, that's certainly no easy task when considering how brutal it can be sometimes :D I'm really glad the video gave you something to enjoy though m8. I get pretty anxious as a content creator cuz I always think I might have missed something or could do something better. But I'm happy to know these videos are doing what I sought to make them for, that's honestly great to hear :)

@@nepasawa6306 I will just add, that the characters in this show are all completely real representations of certain types of people in Japan. I'm not very familiar with voice actors (I do know one girl who was trying to make it in the industry) but as far as the staff of the production company, and that one girl's old-fashioned parents in Yamagata, I've met people exactly like them. The management going drinking and having GREAT IDEAS which they will force everyone under them to implement by working 18 hours a day is a real thing. These guys IRL are assholes and don't have a redemption arc. Anyway, what do you suggest to watch next?

@@GreenTeaViewer True, the work place culture in Japan can be pretty brutal sometimes in regard to the powers that can be placed over you. I don't know if I would go so far as to say that the characters are completely accurate depictions of people as the anime is pretty lenient with characters like kuzu for example who seemingly doesn't fit he mold of a Japanese business man lol Dude just kinda runs around and does his own thing and simps for the hostess XD I do get what you mean about executives forcing their will on others though as Japanese society in general is pretty passive when it comes to saying no out of respect. I would say on the VA side of things, the characters are pretty representative of the voice acting industry as well. Take momoka for example, the blond haired girl who is essentially idolized as the girl who plays a lot of the younger characters in her career. I don't wanna call it a two faced thing, but I take the way she interacts with Chitose and how she portrays herself when speaking to a crowd of fans. In VA work, I feel you sometimes have to take on a character in front of the crowd, especially in Japan where the hype of your audience is built around sort of playing your role even outside the anime if that makes sense. VA work there is interesting for sure XD As for what to watch next, I'm honestly not really sure as I don't really know what kind of genre you're looking for. If you're into older anime, there's always the classics which you can't go wrong with. If you haven't seen it, I'd recommend Gurren Laggan. I love that anime :D

@@nepasawa6306 I'll check out Gurren Lagann. I'm just getting into anime, Girlish Number was the second series I watched, apart from that only Ghibli movies. I'm more interested in slice of life genre but not too much teenage romance stuff. I just realised how much anime is out there with over 200 new series per year.

@@GreenTeaViewer Ouuu welcome to the community my guy, hope you enjoying your early anime experience so far :D Gurren Laggan is a pretty damn good classic with lots of character hype and amazing animation to get behind. The fights are amazingly well done and the plot has such a smooth progression in my opinion. I honestly wish that I would have given it a try in my earlier years of watching anime, just because your first couple of experiences tend to be the impactful with it being a new medium and such. That and to your point of the some odd 200 series that come out each year, Gurren Laggan came out in a time where studios weren't straining themselves to work on a gaggle of different anime all at once like they do today and as a result, I believe the quality of the anime reflects that. I really think you will enjoy it :) If you want an amazing slice of life, then I have to recommend my all time personal favorite "K-On!" The show is pretty hit or miss depending on the person, but I think it does a great job at telling a coming of age story where the main protagonist uses music as a way to give her adolescence meaning among many other great messages. A lot of people don't really see the show in that light, but I base my perception of it from how much I related to it and what I saw in the characters interactions. It's a beautiful show and has some great music if you're into light hearted Japanese rock music. I really recommend it as my top anime :D (sorry for the paragraph lol)
