Hey everyone! We back and out with an anime that I should have reviewed way earlier than I actually did lol I actually tried uploading this throughout the night but had to re-post due to some post edit issues that I didn't know existed until my final watch of the video. Reviewing this anime has been a lot of fun and it served as a good series to segway me back into the swing of things. Thank you to everyone still watching these reviews and all the support you all give this channel. It honestly means a lot to know people are enjoying this content as I put a lot of effort into what I put out. That said, thanks for watching and hope you enjoy :D

I really enjoyed the video. kinda watching every cyberpunk video essay in existence right now so it's nice to see a more personal one than something that does well in the algorithm

Thank you so much m8! I'm glad to know you enjoyed it and that it's coming off in a way that's original :D Ngl, I was kinda worried when I first made this video that it might mimic some other content creators just because the hype around this series was so wild and by that point, I had seen a fair amount of reviews on the series myself lol I got some really good inspiration from some other content creators and I gotta say, exposing myself to so many well made videos on the series had me a bit intimidated XD

I love your take on the anime. It's canon to the game and fleshes out its world even more. This anime got me wanting to play the game more and immerse myself into the game more.

Yooo thanks a lot m8 XD I'm glad you enjoyed it! I definitely feel like the anime had that effect on a lot of people, making them want to play the game even more just to get some more of the amazing world Cyberpunk was meant to be. It's crazy how well the anime did with its representation of Cyberpunk :)

@@nepasawa6306 It's not often an anime does well with its game counterparts. Absolution, Arcane, DOTA, God Eater, and Edgerunners are my favorite video game anime.

@@Mulcam29 True, I think the thing about a lot of game anime is the fact that a majority of them sort of rely on the audience's pre-exposure to the characters, world, etc. in order for the series to make sense or be good. But there are anime out there that could be a standalone if they really wanted and I could see Edgerunners fitting that category :D

@Nepasawa Yea, the game and anime are also relatable because Night City reminds me of Chicago which is in my state. I went from being a rural person to living near cities and the nomads of Cyberpunk remind me of country bumpkins.

@@Mulcam29 Damn, what a comparison. I have never actually heard of anybody relating cyberpunk to Chicago but now that you mention it, it's pretty on par lol I do love the way city life is sort of portrayed in Edgerunners just because I think to some extent, there are some good examples of similarities between the anime and real life. That's a pretty interesting take on relatability for sure :)

Really loved your take on the show, had a few similar concerns about my videos originality too when I did my edge runners review so I know what u mean about about being worried about feeling like mimicking someone elses take but I'm glad you decided to make yours anyway cause this was hella enjoyable to watch and came off pretty fresh especially with ur style of writing. I'll be watching the rest of your vids rn and look forward to following the rest of ur journey on youtube, definitely earned my sub :))

Thank you for the nice comment, I'm glad it was enjoyable and entertaining! Always happy to hear from other content creators on the platform, especially when we share similar issues lol The series was so damn popular when it released and the flood of videos it received in turn was huuuuuge. It was a hella fun video to make though and I can tell you had fun with your video too upon watching it. It was very nicely made and I look forward to the rest soon to come :D Keep up the amazing work man!

Another Netflix anime that hits literally as hard in the feels as edgerunners is Devilman Crybaby. It's seriously good, and also short so your not watching through one piece.

Duuuude Devilman Crybaby, that one's wild :D I've heard so much about it over the years but never actually sat down to give it a watch. Also didn't know it was a Netflix anime so that's a double surprise XD When you say "hits the feels", what kind of feels are we talkin? Feels like I'm gonna watch it and experience an emotion similar to post nut clarity where I hate myself for looking or feels like I'm going to get slapped with sadness and tossed into a never ending void of "wtf just happened and why"?
@Somegoy
@Somegoy Жыл бұрын
@Nepasawa The latter. The first 6 episodes are lots of action gore and nudity. The soundtrack is FIIIIIIIIIRE to my man. Fucking fire. Once you hit around episode 6 the tone takes a major shift, and this show will drag you into a well of despair. Complete sadness. But also so so so fucking good. Worth 4 hours of your time. Trust me

Anyway, I certainly believe the anime is relatively average on its own, but in the sea of mediocrity that is the contemporary anime scene it certainly shines on.

Oh for sure lol the series on its own isn't by any means a masterpiece, but in regards to the hype surrounding the series at the time of its release, I can definitely understand why it was held to such high expectations. The show does a really good job with the different characters and overall just building up the world that in my opinion, Cyberpunk 2077 failed to represent upon release. The summer anime season had some pretty tough competition too, but in the end, I'd say the show definitely lived up to the hype it was given amidst other seasonal anime of the time :D

You're an overweight armchair critic, you're opinion is not valid 😂😂😂 stop trying to fool people with your word salad. YOU don't get to say what's good and what isn't. You don't write mangas or anime and there's a reason your not a mangaka or animator. Many people are saying that this anime was better than one piece and cowboy bebop so stop trying to sound valid we get it you think you're too cool for this anime and want to stand out from the crowd 😂😂😂😂
