BUSHCRAFT Day Trip | Flint& Steel | COOKING On COALS | TARP Configuration

BUSHCRAFT Day trip in my local forest. Made a tarp configuration to sit under, started the fire with flint and steel then cooked my steak and asparagus over the coals - super yummy! Also joined by Buster to share some food!

It's been a pleasure watching you learn and grow on here Bex. Bushcraft tended to be very male orientated and to see a young girl take to bushcraft was a breath of fresh air. You've come on in leaps and bounds and what a journey it's been. To see a family grow as yours has really is like a Swiss Family Robinson type movie in small parts at a time...feel honoured to have witnessed it. The mortar and pestle look amazing, was a real kind gesture....the grain looks amazing. No excuses now...you need to get growing some herbs in dad's plot....like Rosemary, thyme etc.....make that minging asparagus taste better 😂😂😂 Just love Buster....such a handsome boy. Hope your Christmas was a good one and you guys had a great one. Love and the very best of wishes to all of you. Steve x

Always good to have a dog by your side. My breton/brittany is always sure to keep me company when ever there is some cooking going on :-) A little cold for outdoors cooking right now, but in a couple of days we'll be out in the woods again.

In my tipi I have a wood burner & as part of the kit I have 0.5m of garden hose. It allows me to blow on the fire without inhaling any smoke or setting fire to my hair & beard ! It works on an open fire too.

Enjoyed the simplicity with no frills. Like your attitude where you don't have to impress people with your beauty by wearing skimpy outfits but with your skills and personality. Good Nz morning Becky. 100% agree with your comment about steak over charcoal. Gas is so yesterday. I had a friend stay with me, and I did up steak over charcoal. And she just loved it. "Best steak ever." She said. The secret is to buy your steak from a butcher. None of this supermarket rubbish. Butchers, if they're any good, will have had the carcasses hanging for a while. Thanks for another great relaxing video! If you liked the asparagus my favorite way to prepare them is to wrap them in bacon before grilling or cooking over a fire. They turn out amazing like that.

A simple wee trip to the woods is sometimes the best tonic wee need Becks. Loved the tarp set-up. I started my channel the same way and still going strong, not quite your subscriber count, but it makes me happy. Super cute Buster. I agree autumn and winter are the best times for bush-crafting especially to avoid the dreaded midge! I know you know that pain 🦟….

Happy new years Becks, heres to more adventures in the wild. I always feel in touch to my real self when I’m out there in the forests and the mountains. Like our human self is just a smaller part of something far more mysterious and magical. Theres great magic to be discovered jsut by siting on a mountain top or under the emersed in the a waterfall, just cooking and steak infused by the scent of pine needles and mossy autumn leaves. Enjoy.

@girl outdoors. Great video as usual. A couple of tips and tricks to try. Use a marline spike hitch to attach your guy lines to your tent pegs it makes setting up and take down really quick and is just as secure. Use vanilla instant breakfast in place of milk like in your porridge. It ups the calories and carbs. The taste isn’t much different than milk. Not sure that you have carnation instant breakfast on that side of the pond. If you don’t let me know I will send you some. Also on the asparagus in base camp try it in cast iron with a little olive oil and on the grill. Ya didn’t let us know how you liked it. Lol. Good luck and have fun.
