I remember the Howard sisters in the late 70s and e 80s running in southern California in 50-51 sec range in HS. Sure doesn't happen every year.

I saw them run at Cif state meet in 1980 in Berkeley CA. They broke the national record in the 4 by 4 relay. Tina, Sherri and Deanne Howard. Ultra Howard graduated in 79. They also Won the 4 by 100. Sherri won the 200 and Deanne won the 400 meters.. Sherri Howard won gold as a member of the 4 by 4 relay in the 84 Olympics and Deanne Howard went on to represent the USA in the 88 Olympics in the 4 by 4 relay. Running first leg and Flo Jo running anchor. They won Silver with the American record that still stands I believe.

@@robertspies4695 Would that be Livermore Jessica spies? Or her sister. This is so long ago but I remember a Jessica or Becky spies for Livermore. They had good distance runners.

@@nefertitiscott3179 Jessica and Becky Spies are my daughters, Yes. in the state meet Jessica was 2nd in the 800m 2 years in a row and later Becky won the mile 2 years in a row.

@@robertspies4695 Saw the name and had a flashback to Edwards stadium in Berkeley CA at the MOC and State Meet. If you followed track and field at that time in Northern California? You heard about The Spies Sisters. There was another well known family that ran long distance from Livermore High. Last name Jones I believe. A brother and Sister.
