Co-worker went jet skiing on Lake Michigan during small craft advisory. He and his passenger hit a wave and were smashed into concrete pier. Head injuries and yearlong recoveries for both.

I've seen some dumb things in Jones Inlet Long Island over the years but nothing like here..Orange Formula guy for example jumping up & down with the waves..good way to launch yourself into the drink. Happens

If jet skis in inlets and beaches are not there for search and rescue purposes or purely in transit, they should be forbidden. They choose these "rough" conditions out of selfish ego stroking. They disregard the dangers they pose to others by their reckless and selfish behaviour. Not to piss on their parade, they should have designated areas where they can go fool around.

Everyone being Free American's should be able to use the waterways(Inlet's) but that stretch from the bridge out to the open sea should not be the playground of any of them. Far too dangerous & w/ all the traffic depending on this Inlet it's not a good idea to allow swimming, fishing from boats/boards, sail boards, or jet skiers to use the Inlet as their playhouse? Use this waterway to access wherever you wish, north or south but it's not a place to jump boat wakes/waves. If there's a LAW, it should be that using the waterways is alright but not to play within those areas. You got the entire coast to play, just not the Inlet itself !! peace
