I personally love the lore of this game and it's my introduction to gatcha. Storywise it's a more grounded Nikke with metal gear style conspiracies and subterfuge with government and private sector corruption and lovecraftian archeological relics hunting and occultism, love it.

This game is what if XCOM and NIKKE had a child. I just hope they add EN dub soon, it's not that enjoyable to read all the story.

It's why I don't play, plus if you try and auto the text it's so weird, slow and disorientating to look at

It’s no where near as good as the first game was. GFL1 made you feel like you were the commander of an entire army. You spec them out depending if it’s a night mission or not, or if you are up against armored enemies. Planning out your route with all your different echelons to maintain supplies and ammo as you fight your way across the map You can send different echelons to training, expeditions, resource gathering, etc. And if you are using those Dolls for that, you cannot use them in combat. Which makes sense. I was confused when in GFL2 I could send Dolls out on resource runs but then also use them in Campaign Also you needed to create your echelons carefully. Each weapon type buffs another weapon type in specific ways. So both the type of Doll and the placement in the squad needed to be fine tuned. I’m rambling I guess Anyway, $4/lb

it is a sequel tho, this is entierly new genre in gacha games that got recognition. Also in gfl2 commander is no longer a commander of "entire" army, if read story of first game you would know that commander did drop out from G&K because of guilt. GFL1 in the beginning wasn't that deep too, but after years of updates it grew so much there's too much to play with, HOC and coalition units, tanks and gundam, ranked maps, too much for new players to digest. GFL2 is friendlier in that aspect, but there's hope in YZ to impove it to be as complex as GFL1, with fairies, "drone strikes" and other units to play with. I do hope CN server will re-release GFL1 with polished look, because story is ended recently with a lot of explanations on Francfurt.
