Fact: gg is well known as the girl group with the best vocal line, dance line and visuals. I got a boy won KZbin music video of the year with total votes of 3mil+ beating the world's most popular artist at that time like lady gaga and Justin Beiber all of them got thousand plus votes. They received a lot of racial comments from western fans cause of the result that it even makes a news in Korea media how GG received such a racial comments from western artist fans that time even though GG is the world's most popular K-pop but that time Asian artist is still not that well accepted like now. I got a boy is known as the rhapsody song in K-pop due to its experimental sound with a lot of different melody in one song. Billboard named I got a boy as one of world's 100 songs that shaped 2010's. The mv is the first K-pop mv that got a 360 camera shot. PS. GG is known as Queens of Concepts due to all of kinds of concepts they've used throughout their careers and explore a lot of different music sounds as well. Fun fact: The MV for Girls Generation's "I Got A Boy" was produced by Zanybros the same company that is now representing the new Kpop soloist AleXa. In 2013 this video topped the charts and it beat American MVs by Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus, etc. for video of the year at the KZbin video awards. SNSD are queens for a reason. :D This was the era when Kpop songs were created to give an equal amount of lines to every member. So, because SNSD has 9 members this song is longer than a lot of Kpop songs, which gives them time to do a lot of different things in the song. ;P Switching up the beat in Kpop songs is just kind of part of what makes Kpop unique. Case in point, in "I Got a Boy" Jessica literally says, "Lets bring it back to 1-40" which is a reference to switching up the tempo -- changing it from that slower ballad section and bringing the song back to the faster beat. "I Got a Boy" is structured the same way as BigBang's "Bang Bang Bang," but "Bang Bang Bang" came out in 2015, 2 years later. Girls Generation debuted in 2007 so this year is their 14th anniversary. As you have discovered, they are known as one of the most visually stunning girl groups with some of the best vocals and dancers in the industry. As an SM Entertainment group it is, once again, no surprise that they are such great singers and dancers. That is just what you should expect from SM Entertainment groups. :D As you may know, they are still an active group, however, Jessica Jung left the group in 2014. So they are now an 8 member group. Then, in 2017, 3 of the members left SM Entertainment -- Tiffany, Sooyoung, and Sohyun. But all 3 have said they have not left SNSD and would like to still collaborate with the group in the future. All 3 are now working on their solo career. SNSD's last comeback was as a sub-unit called Oh!GG which debuted in 2018 with the 5 members who are still with SM -- Taeyeon, Yoona, Yuri, Sunny and Hyoyeon. since debut Girls' generation were already skilled vocalist and dancers (Heck, you should check their debut song and performance were they are dancing a seemingly "workout routine" choreography while hitting those damn high notes). they were performance chameleons where they can definitely pull off different concepts that's why in gee their dancing suited the concept of the song while in IGAB they danced more powerfully to compensate the hiphop-y concept. you should check out some of their other songs such as INTO THE NEW WORLD (debut) GENIE RUN DEVIL RUN THE BOYS MR MR CATCH ME IF YOU CAN LION HEART YOU THINK PARTY and their lates comeback as a whole group was back in 2017 (their 10th debut aniv) ALL NIGHT AND HOLIDAY

This august 5 marks their 14th year anniversary. IGAB was the KZbin Music Video of the Yr. 2013 beating Bieber etc. wayback. Cant wait to see how u react to The Boys haha Thanks for reacting guys! Their newest as a full group (ot8) is Holiday and All Night. From ot5, it's Lil Touch. The group is still together and has NOT disbanded. They are legendary and only lost one member back in 2014 due to controversial issue between the company and her, which was a sad day for fans but even worse for the girls because they had a strong bond with Jessica. Also, Taeyeon (the solo artist who sang Weekend) is in this girl group I recommend checking their debut Into the New World. "I Got a Boy" was such a cool and refreshing song for GG to release. Many people were surprised to see them performing a hip-hop dance style, but according to the girls they had initially trained for that kind of dance style during early pre-debut/debut days (I believe). They were really happy to dance that style again. Unfortunately, Girls Generation went on indefinite hiatus in 2017 as a few of the members decided to not renew their contract with SM Entertainment (SME). Jessica also was removed from the group in 2014 (a year after this MVs release) due to a controversial personal conflict of interest with SME. Members are currently focusing on individual solo careers at this time. I believe their last song released was "Holiday Nights" in 2017, just before their hiatus. I strongly recommend going back and checking out their older works for reactions as they have many iconic songs to choose from.
