SNSD was basically Korea's National Girl Group from the previous kpop generation. A lot of similarities with Twice. This group was what made me discover Twice from watching Sister Slam Dunk w Tiffany! This particular song has an English version. You definitely gotta check it out! It's fire! In this era SNSD promoted in the western market. Check out their live performances and appearances in shows like Dave Letterman and Live w Kelly.

I think Letterman performance is the one to watch (because of the remix dance break). So you went...SNSD, Slam Dunk, Twice, right? Funny, I learned about SNSD from Sister's Slam Dunk, because I initially thought Tiffany was a minor celebrity---just a pretty, bubbly girl who'd had a couple of successful pop songs! But when she showed JYP her notebook during dinner, and his reaction, I was surprised at her seriousness. I immediately searched "Tiffany" and BAM! SNSD! ( I finished SSD---great show---and then went straight to Girls Go To School. I've been a fan ever since (it's been 20 months now).

Wait until you get to Catch Me If You Can...you might need to drink that water before you start it. It’s their first video as an 8 after Jessica leaves. (They actually had to reshoot it frame for frame (in Japanese and Korean) because they filmed a Japanese version when Jessica was still there but she was gone before it got released. it got leaked years later and is here on KZbin too.)

Girls' Generation is the standard. Everything that today's girl-groups do, they did already. Just to give you an idea of how huge SNSD was back in the day, when SM scheduled an SNSD comeback, every other agency in Korea rescheduled theirs. No other group had a chance against them.

Girls Generation was the number 1 girl group for a long time back in the day so I'm glad you're reacting to them! Honestly my favorite group of all time. They're super iconic and were so popular they really paved the way for kpop's now fast growing popularity in the U.S. First group to perform on a late night and morning talk show. Their influence was huge. You should totally do more research on them and take a deeper dive :)

Actually they are indeed models with amazing voices, but I think the reason why korea and asia fell utterly in love with them is because of their personalities, they're the coolest, funniest group of girls I ever saw. The English version of this video (I would definitely check it out) was literally my first gateway into K-pop.
