THIS! So true! I always say this and I want everyone to apply this to their life within singleness or even beyond: Marriage is a Holy covenant but it's blessed too. The enemy loves to pervert all things to fall upon Man's own deceitfulness. I'm 19 and I'm still single, but I'm content even when it's hard , even if it takes longer, Jesus is preparing me in the middle of my blessing to breakthrough in His timing. I always like to say my heart MUST be so hidden in the love of Jesus that ONLY CHRIST alone can draw me together to Jesus in a blessed covenant of faith with the God-fearing man he has prepared for me. Mentorships are so critical. The reasoning why and it doesn't apply for every male, but the reason why I think many are weak is due to lack of growing up with a proper father figure or male mentor- without it, the human brain and heart alike hasn't grasped the mental cognition and emotional depth of how to be less reactive and more reactive to how Jesus will move in their life, 2. Growing up without religious upbringing but not even that, but also a lack of a relationship with Jesus (not ulitizing the resources in front of them or just turning to be agnostic or atheist but that's not for everyone but it causes that unequally yoked partnership), and 3. Addiction to porn/lustfulness which is 10x more addictive than drugs or cocaine, it's that the enemy and the worldly desires normalize this evil, the access to it is all over so that when it becomes a problem, they rather hide it rather than acknowledging the root of it- isolation and loneliness. Of course, this is not always the true root of the problem for everyone but just my personal thoughts within it.

I'm raising a young little boy, (young man) don't tell him I said that😅. We just started to get to know Jesus and read the Bible with my husband. It started with the Girls Gone Bible. My husband is leading us to read the Bible and I just wanted to say thank you for offering all the information. Truly a blessing that we found you both! To have courage to speak freely about the culture of the modern feminist. I feel the same way as you all. Also letting my son know about true Godly Values!🙏🙏💖. Hopefully one day I'll be able to meet you all !

All of your open sharing, pure hearts, authenticity, surrender, humility on your journeys in your love for Jesus is an encouragement to me who has been sometimes stuck in my own self made Christian Monastery of insecure exclusion… time to leave the protective walls… John 17:16 In-Context: 15 My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. 16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of it. 17 Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth. 18 As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world.

I would think that willingness to be vulnerable and open in front of everyone as young ladies just beginning in the Lord, would encourage many many other young women to TuneIn and be encouraged and to begin following if they're not following now and for others to also grow in seeking the Lord because they can relate with these young women whereas many other ministries can seem overwhelming and intimidating...Godspeed

Hey Aaron, I feel compelled to comment here. I don't pretend to know your life or what's happening in it (or the girls) - I'm just an internet stranger who's listened to every episode of the podcast since the beginning of Battle Ready six years ago - so I don't. BUT, if a girl talks about how much she values traditional roles as she's looking at you, then slows up the conversation to say how 'we need to find Aaron a nice Christian girl' and then when you check that they're single and the grin is spread across her face and she talks about how difficult Christian dating is and has already called you a lot to learn about the bible in the past... I mean, I'm not sure how to tell you this and I could be way out here - I don't know how long you're planning on remaining single but perhaps reconsider your maths? Also, if Christian girls in the past have given you grief when breaking up it's just a sure-fire confirmation that God didn't want you to have anything with them. (Remember, in the bible when the devil leaves he makes a lot of noise!) I haven't seen much of these girls before but I thought they were really good, Angi in particular interviewed really well here (she did speak more) and seems to have had a real change of heart in life with a childlike faith. It's encouraging to hear. Thanks to you and Erwin - keep the great content (and guests) coming!

@layanelias7621 I alluded to two different reasons in my original comment. The GGB podcast is special for many reasons, and this podcast, in particular, did them dirty a couple of times. Most other christian podcasts are more about shock and awe or an agenda, whereas Ang and Ari are more sincere and heartfelt speaking openly about what God puts on their hearts. The chemistry here on this podcast was so back and forth.

Love the aspect of diversity GGB brought to the podcast! I think it’s a great opportunity to reach other demographics for the Mind Shift Pod, however I think there was a lack of depth compared to usual. As much as Mind Shift usually yields abstract thinking, GGB was off brand and was deprived of deep intention. This isn’t a bad thing just an observation . I appreciate the effort for new hosts each week! Have a good one.

Hmm. I re-met my wife at a singles BSF gathering many years ago in Seattle. At the time (1996), it was one of only two or maybe three such groups in the USA. Is there a singles BSF in Los Angeles? Not for me of course, but this genration. Maybe there could be, and maybe the 21st Century version could address some of the dating etiquette issues this generation is encountering (it is applicational Bible study after all). Bible Study Fellowship - it’s intense, but highly recommend!

Dating IN GENERAL is hard. The Bible does say to not be unequally yoked though, so God wants us to be with Christians. I have a non-Christian boyfriend (we have been together over 3 years and I didn’t know about the unequally yoked part until just this year) and let me tell you, it’s harder… because our ways are very different and makes it harder to work through things. I’m praying for a change of his heart, but I believe it is harder to be with an unbeliever. Perhaps you haven’t dated true Christian women? There should never be bashing online after a breakup at all. Know them by their fruits. ❤

I have followed McManus for years and read several of his books and listen to most of the podcasts but I don't understand the talking about dating unbelievers, or how it's hard (or even harder) for Believers to date. the same "logic" would say its harder to be a Believer in this world. I believe the Word shares its just welcoming a Mess to date (with the potential to marry) an unbeliever.

I’m enjoying this episode so far but I feel hard pressed to mention that Nothing new under the sun doesn’t refer to doing new things or everything God is doing. It’s referring to sin. There is no sin that has never been done before. All of that is meaningless. Those chapters are talking about a world without God and in sin. Once you start thinking that “some things in the Bible are taught as tradition and are not true” you’re in serious error.. it’s heresy. God doesn’t contradict himself. I encourage you to reread the book of Ecclesiastes and pray that God would give you deep understanding and insight. Remember not to lean on your own understanding. ALL SCRIPTURE IS GOD BREATHED. May God truly bless you

Erwin obviously misheard King James version when she said New King James Version which is more Earthy. The NIV catches a lot of criticism for what some would call "compromise". While it is true that the NIV doesn't use "Lord" as many times as KJV or ASV, that doesn't take away from the clear message that Jesus is Lord. Bible versions are tools... so use them to convey the truth. Criticism comes when people are using eisegesis to interpret Scripture which will lead to some using the NIV or ESV because it leaves out words or adds words that better convey one ideology while diminishing another.

Erwin's wife's submission is "submission only as long as she approves , but if she doesn't approve, then she won't submit". That is like a Christian following God only when things are going well. Biblical submission is the wife submitting in everything like the Bible says and like the marriage vow.... in sickness and in health... for richer or poorer... til death due us part. Erwin's wife is like my wife... the rebellious and un submissive wife. Erwin knows he can't change her, so he is proactive and makes sure she is happy. My wife took the kids and left.

Anyone can baptize someone else. Phillip baptized the Eithiopian Eunuch outside of "church". Pastors like to make a group event.... a kind of "photo op" out of it to encourage the body and show they are earning their paycheck. A "church celebration" is fine but it's not mandated in Scripture.

Solomon was not wrong nor was God. Nothing is new under the sun ☀️ but Solomon never said that nothing was new above the sun ☀️. Everything new that God does entails things that are above the sun because His ways are above our ways [8] For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. [9] For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah‬ ‭55:8‭-‬9‬ ‭ Notice how for the new covenant and new creature it's all dealing with Heavenly matters not earthly [12] If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things? John‬ ‭3:12‬ ‭ ‭‭Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. John‬ ‭3:3‬ ‭KJV‬‬ The koine greek word for again is (anothen) meaning above. So the passage says - Except a man be born above he cannot see the kingdom of God. [47] The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven. [48] As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly. [49] And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly. ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭15:47‭-‬49‬ ‭ [5] even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) [6] and hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: Ephesians‬ ‭2:5‭-‬6‬ ‭ So God was not wrong when He said behold I do a new thing and Solomon was not wrong when he concluded nothing is new under the sun

Dear Erwin, sentences and texts always leave a lot of room for interpretation and the spirit of god often contains many truths, but i guess you didn't understand solomon. he wasn't hopeless, he was just describing the world and everything in it. 2000 years ago people wanted the same things as today: more money, more power, more women, more men, more possessions, a place in history and so on... he was not referring to god, but to the course of history. at some point, everything is forgotten and all the selfish effort of wanting to obtain these things is worthless. my advice: listen to the girls, i feel they are full of the holy spirit and strive for purity.

*I wonder if this pastor has ever been through the wilderness and dryness of faith like Job has; which is exactly what Solomon was reiterating in Ecclesiastes when he said "vanity! vanity! all is vanity and chasing the wind"... All due respect I don't believe this pastor has experienced what Job and Solomon has experienced although this pastor may be a man of faith and very learned... Even Solomon said; "a man that has never been tested to the extreme; what does he even know?"...When you are filled to the fullness with the Holy Spirit, then in direct contrast you can see that everything in the flesh in this world is meaningless and empty and vain and dead; even Jesus Christ himself said "that which is born of the spirit, is spirit; and that which is born of the flesh, is flesh: the spirit gives life, but the flesh profits nothing"... John 3 ...John 6*
