Funny personal story about 1,000 steps from nearly 30 years ago. Went with friends and my golden retriever (and his tennis ball, of course). Time comes to leave and battle the stairs. Dog drops ball halfway up and it bounces to the bottom. He runs down to get it and runs back up...a little slower. Got about 5 steps from top and he drops it again. He watched it bounce all the way down, looked at me, looked down the steps and back at me with a look that said "screw it" and he continued upward. He was so upset. That's when I learned to always keep a spare ball with me (and it came in handy after he dropped one out the car window one day). Anyone with a golden knows the struggle.

I just wanna point out at any time we purchase from a company that is donating what we’re doing a stopping the company from paying taxes. It’s better to just pay to an actual nonprofit. If you want an item for your purchase then purchase from a nonprofit. So every $50 that business donates to a nonprofit is 50 less dollars they have to pay their taxes. In the case of Oddli they are donating 50% of profits to an NAF which means every single dollar that they donate to that nonprofit will be written off on their taxes. it is better for all of us to purchase from a nonprofit or donate to of nonprofit because the amount that we write off on our taxes if we even make enough to do that is minuscule while even small corporations harm our economy and our social welfare system by essentially writing off the money we are donating. Amazon smile also does this, any of us have used Amazon smile have actively participated in Amazon not paying taxes because when we buy an item Amazon donates a percentage that percentage adds up and that’s how they don’t pay taxes. And for those of us who can’t afford to donate large chunks of money I recently have started copping what my grandmother did and setting a set donation monthly that’s for small amounts like $5. A consistent small donation is often also better for the organization than a one time large donation. These are things that none of us know and it’s on purpose which is why I’m sharing, not guilt or shame bc we all have done it but for education so we can all make informed decisions.

Tbh, I do not like command strips. They don't stick to cheap paint that landlords use & half the time the strip gets stuck on the wall or takes the paint off anyways. Just let me use a nail!!! Rant aside, I love the gallery wall!

As a fellow renter you can buy command hooks that can hold different weights! They have even been rolling out new products where you can hang pictures with complicated backs where the command hook mimics a nail on the front end but is still the same damage free wall sticker on the back!

Fun fact: I fell off a cliff at thousand steps beach and this is the first time I’ve seen it since the accident in 2016! If you look to the left when you get to the bottom of the stairs, you can see the cliff I fell off of in the distance 😂 (ps I am all good now so we can laugh LOL)
