Okay, first of all these women are NOT suppose to be the "funniest", the reason why these women are on here is because these just happen to be Dawn French's personal favorites. Second, not all of these women are stand up comedians, many of them are comedic actresses, or comedy writers, they work with improv, etc. So not all of them are doing the whole stand-up thing. Kathy Griffin is heavily inspired by Joan Rivers, and Phyllis Diller! They think alike so much. And Actually, some people (like Ellen and Katy Perry) insist that Kathy is the next generation Joan Rivers. I agree, though Joan still does her thing, as does Kathy, it is obvious that these two women are the closest female comics. Seriously Joan, Lucille and Phyllis are the Queens, and paved the way for the rest, but Kathy Griffin, Rosie, and "maybe" Ellen are worthy successors.

soulinite - I don't find MadTV funny, as I found out by looking at KZbin videos recently. I didn't post my opinion, but if I had done, it wouldn't have been more than once. If you don't like something, you give your opinion and then vanish. Find something you do like. That's what sane people do. You really have to be quite an obsessive to keep appearing on a thread about funny women, and repeatedly saying how unfunny women are. You should take it as a warning that you've got head problems.

I was disappointed - I would dearly love to find a good woman comedian, but I'm afraid Sarah's not it. A lot of potty humor, which I think gets boring fast, if it's even that funny in the first place. I know some people like her dissections of racists, misogynists, homophobes and other bigots.I think she actually does women a bit of a disservice in that she's so childlike maybe she's just using it a comic device, but I suspect there's more to it than that.
