Flawless film for a debut. Got reminded of my own 18 year old days and how my mother used to behave then. Mira's mother is a mom one would like to have - gives the right level of freedom, is human and finally, a brave mom who stands by her daughter (none of which my ma has). The emotions take you on a journey without you having to think about them. Truly, the best film of the year. Love the girl. (The boy, although smart, likeable, is different from the teenager we meet in Secret Superstar - a far more amazing boy who truly loves his girl and stands up for the right things. Girls must be girls because boys will be boys.

It's a beautiful movie which makes you feel a lot of emotions. It allows you to judge and then understand your own judgement from a different perspective. Although in the end I still had a little judgement for few scenes like "Sri sleeping in Bedroom" scene, but by the end i understood where & why it all came from. Mira is a rare beautifully & wisely written teenage character, how she processes it all till the end is amazing to watch. 👏❤ also in the beginning i was thinking about the title, what should "girls will be girls" mean ? By the end I got the answer. ❤❤

When i saw this movie last night first thing came to my mind was what this movie is trying to tell. I literally cannot belive actors like richa chaddha and ali fazal who are great actors in their craft produced this shitty movie. This film is so flawed and this story doesn't even resonates with indians this could've made how middle class indian family will connect with even her mother's character is so flawed that she is telling the unknown boy to sleep in her bedroom on her bed normal wouldve slept in her daughters room with her daughter even if daughter doesn't want to sleep in room with mom she could've slept in hall also. Movies like this i dont know and i cant even understand for whom they are making this. the topic is sensitive and this could've made with good story line but they even couldn't represent the stroy with intresting plot just focused on sexual things to let audience hooked throughout the movie. Even if you ignore everything still movie is not good in any aspect. Why makers want to show like wannabe American parents who are okay with everything even normal parents in america are not like this even they have some ethics and standards but this wannabe Americans they are trying even more hard to be progressive than Americans. Even this movie with such topic would've very great watch if they would've made like shubh Mangal savdhan or badhai ho even they were touching serious issues in way better manner but this woke filmmakers doesn't even know how make movies they are just tend to more focused on showing sexual things and can't even make an interesting watch.

I hope its not another one of those movies that glorify women and girls and paint men as complete villians. For the last 20 years or so, a huge number of movies have been made that have glorified women, as if women are perfect and only men are the bad creatures. When men stand up and speak against atrocities by some women against men, those men are called insecure by (pseudo) feminist. This is complete discrimination against men and men must stand up.

A beautiful movie. Every frame scene deserves a second look....for all little looks....movement.....dialogue.....even brilliant background score with use of sounds....neveronce deviating into obscenity and for many girls will be a nostalgia.......balancing the sensibilities....not painting anyone black. Truly a brilliant movie.

Since the movie has teenagers I assumed it was watchable by young teenagers but that is certainly not the case! I sometimes wonder how normal audience such as myself might not end up liking the movie despite amazing performances. What was the need of adding unnecessary scenes and hence make it unwatchable by a younger audience.

Anupama is so predictable, any movie that glorifies (pro-left) women or women whose political leaning is not known and any movie that glorifies muslims or is directed by a muslim or a muslim is in main role in that movie, anupama will either praise that movie or she downplays the problems in that movie.

What a useless movie.. there's something seriously wrong with you if this is what you call a "must watch".. 1. There is no "coming of age" in it.. it's just a few days in the life of a teenage girl. The girl looks 30 years old. 2. The script is stupid. 3. The plot is pathetic. 4. The climax is as useless at it could've been with no real conclusion.

Watched it... Its a good movie but not worth the hype around it. I guess they are hyping it because Richa and Ali Fazal have produced it.. They did it for that stupid Chandu Champion movie as well.. which was directed by Kabir Khan... They overhype the movies with leftist cast, directors and producers... All we Imagine as light is superlative to this... Girls will be girls is just an Okay OTT movie capturing relationship between a mother and teenage daughter... Also, students who are in 12th standard are maximum 17 year olds... And the boy was 19 year old and Mira was shown as 18 year old... So that they could show a sex scene.. 🤷🏽♂️ Stupid manipulation really... The synopsis says 16 year old and 17 year old however ... Did i watch something differently?😅 Anyways, the girl sees through the manipulative boy in the end and feels sorry about the way she treated her mother.. Thats a simple plot told intimately.. And Reviewers really like such human moments plot and get carried away and call such movies as "Movie of the decade" 😅😅
