I was going to say the same thing we had a male St. Bernard. We didn’t take him to the groomers though, because he had too much anxiety. He really loves to be brushed because I calmed him down but we didn’t put him in a groomer situation because he had too much anxiety, seeing that thumbnail made me up cry we had to put him down December 3, 2021. He lived a good 10 years and his name was Samson. I would sleep with him when he became older on the bathroom floor I wanted to cherish every moment I had left of him. He was the first family dog i had. we put him down because he had a tumor. I came back home from school and even though I knew he was put down while I was at school and for some reason I still thought he was going to be there.

My mother told me that when she was 16, she asked my Nan if they could get a dog. The house was small and the garden was tiny but my Nan agreed to a little dog. My mother went to Battersea dogs home to rescue one. She came home with a St. Bernard because no one wanted him and he was unwell. @@jesmasa1 That sounds like my husky, escaping, running but not so far that I can't see him, him staying there just sniffing the grass, etc. till I get within 10-12 feet away before taking off again and repeating the process. If there's people around, he'll go up to them for pets, but unless they grab his collar, he takes off again just as I get there... 🤣 I have to question if he just decided to take me for a walk to explore where I never took him on a walk, because that's exactly where he would go every...single...time, including across a 6 lane plus turn lane major road which had my heart in my throat! I moved after he did that twice, even though he knew how to cross without getting near any cars. I had taught him on walks as a 10 month old puppy to stop at roads to make sure there was no cars coming and to wait if there were, and as smart as he is, I think it stuck with him. He would be pretending to just be sniffing something on the side of the road, but there were no cars coming when he ran across.

@@Zoobamafoo lol yup I'm pretty sure she allowed us to catch her only when she decided the game was over. You're so lucky you had a husky. I used to see a beautiful husky on my way home from school. Sitting on the front porch like it was a throne, observing its subjects.

Wow, if a husky owner says a dog is stubborn, that says something. I always thought of St. Bernards as big protective walruses who loved kids.

Fun, interesting commentary about things I'd otherwise never be interested in feels like the reason that youtube was created. This channel is a perfect encapsulation of all those things. It's simply fun and informative...no more, no less. I think it's so cool that these videos have helped to give you a successful career as a groomer. Thank you for this wonderful channel to follow. :)

Well, done, Vanessa, for doing your normal great job on a big dog that’s never been professionally groomed before and doing it without assistance. Nelson looks magnificent and his behavior for a first-timer was really good.

He's such a weird giant dude. Probably the first Bern I've seen with so much energy and sass, they usually just look like they're about to melt.

This made me miss our Saint Bernards. 😭 They were such good boys. Our second Saint would blow out his undercoat like mad every spring. We would take him outside and brush him for an hour to keep it from getting all over the living room. At the end of the hour, it looked like there had been a snowstorm and the birds would come grab the fluff for their nests.

We have 2 Great Pyrenees. Family always asks that we send the spring & summer "snow" pictures when we comb them out. We also hook clumps of fur to trees, bushes and fence holes for the birds. Day later they are all gone. Usually birds grab clumps as we move around the yard.

Nelson gets the most handsome good boy award! Congratulations, Nelson! ❤🏆I even like the interesting barks you made when getting blow dried. You've got some sass Nelson, but not too much. Just the right amount. 😊

Miss, wonderful and informative video as always. 🙂 I have the great pleasure of sharing my life with two Saints, a Beautiful Female and a Handsome Male. They are about Nelson's size. We aren't near your location. After watching your channel for some time and getting some of the products shown. Grooming them has gotten so much easier! Especially your soap/conditioner products used with the applicator attached to the hose. It uses less product and gets down to the skin easily! Plus it is an additional activity that we can do together. I thank you sincere for all the help you give and the wonderful videos of so many amazing Breeds of Dogs! You are wonderful!

Nelson is good boy indeed. He looks great after the grooming. He reminds me of a St.Bernard few years back who coincidently made me forgo my unwrapped chocolate bar near a confetti shop and boy, was he so happy and enjoyed eating it. Such a majestic pup.❤

Vanessa, speaking of keeping your distance in case a dog lunges, I’m wondering if, in fact, you have ever been bitten? A few cautionary anecdotes from you would be welcome! Love your channel and always recommend it to fellow dog lovers - so many people say “oh yes, I watch her all the time!” ❤️
