Based on my melee experience, while biome blade line is cool, it’s isn’t really effective compared to other weapons available at that stage, on the other hand, ark line is really damn good and ark of the elements (the post ml one) did a very solid job up until i killed polterghast with it

Yeah, honestly. That slight misplacement is brutal and makes the entire line fall off. ESPECIALLY Galaxia. Excelsus is literally better for Yharon because of it's better range making it only useful to make the Ark of the Cosmos. ...except for True Biome Blade. It just completely breaks DoG. Swordsmith's Pride as primary attunement and Sanguine Fury as passive gives so much lifesteal.

biome blade is ok for destroyer, but even then other classes have stuff like wave pounder that completely outclass it. I did find biome blade good for events like the sulfuric sea, the vine whip is really good for crowd control

Ark line is kinda situational because other than end version its projectiles dont have particulary high dps, and to reach really good damage you have to hit with the blade, but then you have true melee weapons for that. It just doesnt scale from melee speed, which is why dps is not superior. Weapon pays with dps for its versatility

I use a mod for better sword animations. As it turns out the biome blade paired with the mod duplicates the attacks of the true biome blade exponentially, turning a spinning swordsmiths pride into a eye burning wheel of light that kills anything that touches it and simultaneously releases hundreds of swords a second so yeah, that was a pretty easy part of the playthrough.

So true. I'm currently playing Calamity Death mode with my friends and i rarely used the Biome Blade (every forms). Its not effective at all cuz as a Melee player, the Bosses will constantly chasing and shooting projectiles (a lot) at you. Its hard to get close to deal true melee damage cuz every bosses' contact damage took more than half the health bar. And the damage is not entirely good.

Did a run where I only used weapons of the entire Ark of the Cosmos family tree on Death a few months ago. Difficult but fun; would definitely recommend because of the variety in the different biome sword modes and how the visuals of the blades are like eye candy

Fun fact about all of the astral infection infusions, they give full immunity to contact damage when you charge through anything with such a hurt box. I wasn't sure if it still worked on current patch, but i just tested it on Yharon, and all 3 gave me full i-frames. They are one of the best infusions for Yharon, highly recommend it.

The ark being scissors was strange to me too but then it hit me, you put the two swords together. Two blades does make a scissors, plus the sounds of the snips is just so satisfying.

Definitely cool, just kinda wish biome blade line didn’t get pretty much totally consumed by ark moveset aside from the 5th attack, because I generally find myself liking its line despite not being as useful as ark

The Galaxia's Andromeda form is really usefull in Yharon fight It can be used as abillity which allows custom direction dashing that does about 40k damage. In addition, while user is dashing it the user can be immune to charge attacks. However, what makes me recommend this is fun from dashing through enemies and escaping from incoming projectiles swarm.

​@@Jay2480 Sand dollar is a rogue weapon bought from sea king npc. It has a pretty straightforward mechanic, it shoots out like a boomerang. What makes it good is that it has a very high damage value when using stealth attacks, as it shoots two of the weapon at once, dealing nuke damage at a decently far distance.

Apparently, I do not know the new biome blade as well as I thought I did, but anyway, for the astral/abyss passive, it actually does not follow your player when you move, and stays still in the place that you were before, meaning enemies that chase after you will get hit by your shockwave even from afar, as long as you run in a straight line.

It's funny how the True Biome Blade ends up being a hard counter to the Devourer of Gods, essentially using the worm's blood as fuel whenever you get up close and personal with it, or vice versa. You can still use a shield bash to parry the head if you're in a pinch.

The true biome blade with the crimson passive ability is totally broken, being able to heal yourself on almos any hit you do allows you to survive with really strong enemies, thanks to this weapon i defeated the devorer of gods for the first time, and also help me with thanatos on the fight of the exo bosses, but almost always was usefull, i maked another after making the next upgrade because this wasn't able to heal you, even with calamytas was usefull, i love you true biome blade with hallow attack and crimson pasive ability, thank you for keeping me alive.

I was thinking of doing a playthrough ark/biome blade weapons only run. It could be fun I would start off normally but then once i get a biome blade it's nothing but ark/biome blades from there _it would also mean I'd have to do DoG with ark of the elements and that will be a pain, but I'm good with parries so could work out_

You can even start sooner and only use weapons that can be considered materials for the two before getting them, such as the wooden sword (which is immediately obtainable), golden/platinum sword(probably a stealth mission unless you get lucky with one of those cosmic elementals that drop the enchanted sword and/or starfury), enchanted sword, and starfury (these two alongside some solid armor will let you dominate the common prehardmode enemies and can defeat bosses up to when you can get the broken biome blade).

this and the fractured ark line are my favorite in the mod,but in all honesty they're not "good enough" compared to the other weapons available in my leatest melee playthrough,the fractured ark and the ark of the element were the only good ones,ark of the ancient is REALLY GOOD but it gets replaced very fast,i wish it was pre plantera I know it looks like am praising the ark lineup more than the biome blade but that's just the truth,i hope they buff those weapons....
