Oh my. Caccini! I adore him ^^. No wonder he was so loved in his time, he must be the early Baroque equivalent of a pop king. This little piece, “Non ha’l Ciel cotanti lumi”, is a clear reason why. It has something very popular, almost folk and party-like, very relatable for a vast majority of people. The earthly theme, the sensuous music… all of it an invitation to celebrate the joys of being alive. This was delightful, and I’m sure you had a lot of fun performing it. Tuomas’ stubborn, almost angry strumming, and Anneliina’s ironic, teasing singing, fit this piece like a glove. It’s sad to know it won’t be long until you need to leave this special location, but I like to think your music will keep bouncing and resonating between its walls, like a light that never truly dies. Congratulations again! And a big hug for the both of you.

Thanks! We really should feature Caccini more often - in addition to the Strozzi we discussed previously 😉 We actually had this space for us only for one month, September, when we shot a number of videos and are now releasing them. At the present, we are back to shooting in one-off locations. It's a lot more work, but on the other hand, more variety too for us and for you viewers.

And let me say it really touches my heart that you decided to take my Strozzi-related request. I am truly grateful. You really are something else 😊. By the way! Tomorrow I have my first concert in my new city - I moved from Barcelona to San Sebastián eight months ago. I sing in a Baroque choir, along with a small orchestra. We are doing Caldara’s “Missa providentiæ”, and they’ve given me the Alto solos/duets. A lot of responsibility, but I feel ready. And if I’m feeling nervous at some point, I’ll try to take your professionalism and savoir faire as an inspiration 😀. Have a good one!

@@AnneliinaRif Thanks! It has been really great! Everything has gone smoothly, and we’ve had a wonderful time. Singing in a choir is incredible, to be honest. Such moments of focus and synchronicity, so many people united by a single intent and purpose for a while, communicating with the audience and inviting them to join in thought and emotion. It’s one of the best, most therapeutic experiences I can think of. Kiitos! Have a great rest of week and, if we don’t get to talk earlier, hyvää joulua ja onnellista uutta vuotta! (I hope I’m not butchering Finnish 😛).
