Giurgiulești port - Moldova’s sea gate on the Danube

Located on a Danube bank, the Giurgiulești Free International Port is the only harbor Moldova has for sea ships. The half a kilometer strip of land that hosts the port had been a Ukrainian possession until the countries swapped small pieces of territories, with Moldova ceding a road portion in the east.
