Roger Hodgson

Күн бұрын

Roger Hodgson co-founded Supertramp in 1969 and was the driving force behind what fans call the 14 golden years of the band. He wrote, sang, and arranged the enduring rock standards that made Supertramp a worldwide phenomenon with album sales in excess of 60 million. In addition to “Give a Little Bit,” Roger also gave us timeless classics such as Breakfast in America, The Logical Song, Dreamer, Take the Long Way Home, School, It's Raining Again, Fool's Overture, and many more.
"Give a Little Bit has a wonderful message that makes people light up and I get them to sing with me. It really has a message that is very eternal and is needed even more today than it was when I wrote it when I was 19.” ~ Roger Hodgson
Roger is currently on tour and selling out shows around the world. Every concert is a powerful emotional journey and his passion for his music and his art shines through in the magic and intimacy that is felt by the audience. For tour details, visit www.RogerHodgso... or / rogerhodgson .

School is RIDICULOUS. I played guitar with a drummer in a talent show at my school when I was only 15 in grade 6. We won the talent show and the next day we got $2 each for winning. I then asked my English teacher who organized the talent show at my school, if I could play my guitar at another school, (High school), where they were having another talent show. She agreed that I could play my guitar and open the show. So, I got a drive there by my brother and his best friend and just before the curtain opened, my bro's friend cranked my 100 watt amp and I proceeded to play Led Zeppelin and Rush songs on my guitar. The guitar was pretty loud and parents were plugging their ears while the kids loved it. When I went back to school the very next day, I was called into the office and the principal said I "should not have played at the talent show" at the high school, and I got the strap. How lame is that? Good for you for playing this song Terrell Clark !!! Glad you got married too !!! :)

@@charlesaguilar1708 Except that me mostly puts out only his live solo versions of the songs he wrote for Supertramp. He still sounds great, but nothing can touch the original Supertramp (with Hodgson & Davies) live on stage back in the seventies and early eighties. That was truly special! " Paris" is still considered one of the greatest live albums ever produced.

I grew up in the 70's and from the first time I ever heard this song, the words "See the man with the lonely eyes, just take his hand, you'll be surprised" has always spoken to me of deep meanings.

"So find yourself, we're on our way back home..." What a timeless classic and an ever-inspiring life's mantra, to "give a little bit"! It simply awes me - written by Roger from the heart, this song's message will forever and endlessly touch so many others from every walk of life and all generations. One of the most brilliant and touching experiences is to be in the midst of the crowd at Roger's concerts, singing along to "Give a Little Bit" in unison with everyone - and in those moments, sharing in our life journeys together. This song is a spark of magic in how it so deeply connects all of us. ♡

Un himno perfecto para la actualidad y saber mejorar como personas.

What a song! What a message! So needed nowadays as much it was when it was written. I specially love this song live in concert, it's always such a feeling of joy and wellbeing. It's so great to see everybody clapping, dancing, singing along, having so much fun that you come back home tapping and humming over and over the lyrics. How much Roger gives to us every day. I'm counting days to see him live again and share with so many more the magic of Roger on stage. Don't miss it. Give yourself the best gift ever and go to see a show. You won't regret. it will be the experience of your life. By the way, I love to see these old videos from the old times.

I was about to attend my one year of college when Breakfast In America was released. It is still one of my favorite records. Supertramp was one of those bands that filled an indescribable void during a period when there was already such a huge variety of sounds being recorded. Thanks to Roger, they had a unique sound all their own and I'm thankful for that. Thank you Roger. pss - I asked Santa for the 'Live in Paris '79 DVD' for Christmas. Am trying to be good ;-)
