Give fences a designer look on a budget

In this video I decide on the best way to improve the look of our boundary fencing on a budget. I look at the best way to make a boring, brown fence recede rather than dominate, allowing all the attention to be focused instead on the plants!

What would be your opinion on the black in the same brand now yours has been up a while? Would you go grey again? Torn between the two!

I think black is nice too, perhaps would suit a more contemporary look? I will stick with grey as it’s easier than changing it all again and I think it suits our garden. The paint itself has been a bit disappointing in the longer term, it has faded quite a bit in the sunny parts of our garden requiring a touch up and in the shaded areas has gone green after two years. I think that is just modern paint, all a bit rubbish!! One of my subscribers suggested using a product called Wet and forget to prevent it going green. I haven’t got around to trying this yet but if you are about to paint yours it might be worth considering. Good luck Jenny

Hello lovely job. Did you wash down or clean the algae off? How did you do that with what? Or did you just paint over it

The fence by the veg patch is in full sun so didn’t need it but the other one does get a lot of agae so we did it with the pressure washer. Annoyingly that one needs painted again this year, I think that video was a couple of years ago so it doesn’t last long! Thanks for watching Jenny

Thank you so much. I think the paint is good . I’ve used it on all the sheds and they’ve definitely lasted 5 years but I think fences in damper, shaded parts need redone more than that. Hope that helps.

@@MurphysGarden Needs two coats really , I did one coat and was happy with the result might give it another coat in a couple of years time. If it goes green simply pressure wash it off 👍

What’s the stone you used at bottoms fence
