Nice job. You might try it again and see if you get the Cinnamon at the Nose. Tasting: Vanilla, Oak, and small amount of Lemon/Citrus. (try sniffing a Lemon before you start your nosing/tasting and see if you pick it up on the tasting. To me, I find on all Bourbons the 2nd time I try them i seem to get acclimated to the profile and put up new nuances. Keep Riding

Nice review Mike. I have liked all the 2XO blends. I need to do a blind on all 4 to rate them. Going on memory, I believe I liked the Tribute blend the best, but a blind might change that. 🥃

im a fan of the 2XOs and i agree with you on this one. its good, just, not OVER msrp good, OR worth replacing good. me personally am getting tired of the rye spice prevalence in all the 2XOs, this one especially i wanted to be the "sweet" tropical flavor bourbon rather than spicey, but they continued on that trend just like you said, yeah ill drink it, but then thats pretty much it for this one

Is there any bourbons you've had that had a sweet tropical flavour? I am fairly new to the bourbon journey and am looking for just that flavor. Thank you for any advice or brands to try.

@@nschlueter13 hello😊ill tell you what i can let me preface this with a huge disclaimer. (tropical) is more of a term i personally use rather than actual bourbon lingo. in terms of "tropical" like, sunny beach, exotic fruit flavor, thats not gonna be there so much as actual sweetness, like vanilla, or honey. this bottle featured in this video is marketed as the flavors of a coastal island getaway, so i was thinking it was gonna be pure fruit. which it wasnt, hence my personal disappointment. typically "wheated bourbons" are sweeter, so keep an eye out for those what you want to do is read mashbills at the store, if the bottle has it on it, or if a worker can tell you about the bottle. if youre looking for sweet, avoid bottles with a lot of rye. as it makes it spicier and more harsh, rather than sweeter. lots of corn is what i look for. corn adds that nice sweet sugar flavor so take this as you will, since its my personal opinion now, but, heres a list of bourbons i drink for their "sweet and tropical" flavors (all of these are regular bourbon offerings, as opposed to flavored, since im almost sure thats what you were inquiring about) buffalo trace bourbon. for me its not too viscous, not too high proof, which makes it very easy to drink, and for me its all fruit. proof is 90, retails for 25$ penelope 4 grain bourbon again easy to drink, and its pure lemon for me. great in whiskey sours or on ice proof is 80, retails for 35$ makers mark. i love the stuff, i recommend makers 46. they have cask strength offerings, but i recommend starting with the regular. lots of vanilla in that 94 proof, about 40$ old forester 1920 this ones a little heavier for me, its about 115 proof, and retails for around 55 to 60$ but it drinks smooth, and has great sweetness you may also consider woodford reserve double oaked penelope architect 4 roses single barrel they may or may not have a flavor profile you want to try, but i would based on what we're talking about recommend looking into them thats what i can give you for now, but im of course around if i can try to give any info again😊

What is your thoughts on scotch whisky if you have any likes/preferences on sweet/fruity scotch whisky? Thanks again!

@@nschlueter13 youre welcome! im glad to help a little😀 i do like scotch! i tend to be less discerning with scotch, i just like it in general, my favorites are johnnie walker 18, macallan 12 year sherry cask, and the one i would always recommend to others, "compass box hedonism" now THAT one is flavorful! cant even describe it, its just got so much going on, but not too much to where you cant understand it, just perfectly complex and of course im still here to talk🥹🥹if i can answer anything else 😀😀
