You could argue some scriptures say not to judge, but I think the clearest is Matthew 7:1-2 - ""Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." So I would say if you're going to judge someone then do so fairly. I accuse someone of being a bad person then I need to examine my motives for everything I do.

When people tell you not to judge, they themselves are making a judgement. So ask them, why are they judging you for judging. They are basically contradicting their own statement. Everybody makes judgements Everyday, the literal definition of judgement is this. Judgement: The ability to make considered decisions or come to sensible conclusions So when you tell me to stop judging, your basically telling me not to make a decision. Your actually telling me it's wrong to stop somebody who's Killing innocent people. So thefore your telling the police force to stop judging people for stealing, killing, raping ECT. You see when people tell you to stop judging their basically saying Good and evil are equal. What they don't understand is that the very thing that saves people from going to hell is being judged. Constantly threw the bible sinners are being judged. John the prophet judged, the apostles judged. That's the only way people get saved, they are judged for their sins and told they need to change. They need to repent and the only way they figure out they need to repent and are need of being saved is by being judged. Repent in Jesus name of your sins, accept Jesus as your Lord and savior and follow him. God bless you all.

Everyone is responsible for their own actions. It is by those actions that a person is judged both good and bad. We must make judgement calls every day in order to make wise decisions. But we must first make sure that we have all the relevent information before we make any judgements. For example: how do we know someone is a thief? First we must know the definition of theft. Then we must observe the person committing an act that matches that description. Then we must make sure that we did not miss anything by gaining all the information from the relevant persons. Finally we are able to declare whether that person is a thief. Is that a judgement? Yes it is, but it would be a fair judgement. Another example: is Jakob Poltl a good basketball player? Again we have to define "good basketball player" Is he good like Lebron James or is he good because he plays professional NBA basketball? Another judgement call. One could say yes he is but someone else could point out his stats for the last season, compare them to the stats of other basketball players and conclude that he is not, which would be a better judgement call. Judgement is not just a weapon to demean people. Judgement is deterimining what is good and bad in the world around us and what is in us. Some people are very uncomfortable with the idea and tend to react badly when they are forced to look at themselves honestly.
@bonnie43uk8 жыл бұрын
I absolutely agree with you casey, each scenario should be looked at in it's own context, it's very easy to judge someone without knowing all the facts. This is why I believe things like morals are subjective. There are scenario's in life when it would seem the morally wrong thing to do can actually be the right thing to do.
@1961casey8 жыл бұрын
bonnie43uk You are correct but the morality doesn't change, it is the information that makes a difference. Morality cannot be subjective, because if it is, it becomes irrelevent and the world ends up in chaos. Just because you may understand why a person did something wrong does not make the action right.
@bonnie43uk8 жыл бұрын
1961casey We will have to differ on this my friend, are you saying that mankind isn't capable of working out good actions from bad actions? Also, wouldn't you say that something like stoning a person to death for adultery was seen as morally acceptable during biblical times and sanctioned by God, but today it would be seen very much as immoral to carry out such an act. What we see as moral and immoral changes with the times.
@mackdmara6 жыл бұрын
bonnie43uk There is a difference between legislative punishments & the moral implications of the infraction. What if the adulterous people are not caught? There is no punishment, so is it then morality acceptable? No! It is morally wrong either way. So we know that much. Now, let's look at law & order. There are no police, there is no state payed people who carry out punishments. Often this was left to the family, unless you bring that person before a judge. Then everyone is in on it. The law is two fold. One to judge & punish offenders, & two to encourage people to resolve their own problems/not break the law. This means that justice must be clear, if carried out. It also requires three witnesses who knew you were in fact committing adultery. You basically would have to be flaunting the law to be caught by it. In practice, the law is far more fair, than your overly simplified question implies.

"Judge not lest you be judged” is a snippet from Christ’s great Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5:3-7:27). In Matthew 7, Jesus turns to the topic of judging others. Sadly, the passage is one of the most misunderstood and misapplied teachings in Scripture by believers and non-believers alike. In his commentary on Matthew, Stuart Weber gives this excellent summary of the correct meaning of Matthew 7:1: “Do not judge others until you are prepared to be judged by the same standard. And then, when you exercise judgment toward others, do it with humility” (Holman New Testament Commentary, Vol. 1, p. 96). When Jesus said, “Judge not lest you be judged,” He wasn’t issuing a blanket rule that people are never to judge others. A closer look at the rest of the passage illuminates the real issue Christ wanted to address: “Do not judge others, and you will not be judged. For you will be treated as you treat others. The standard you use in judging is the standard by which you will be judged. And why worry about a speck in your friend’s eye when you have a log in your own? How can you think of saying to your friend, ‘Let me help you get rid of that speck in your eye,’ when you can’t see past the log in your own eye? Hypocrite! First get rid of the log in your own eye; then you will see well enough to deal with the speck in your friend’s eye” (Matthew 7:1-3, NLT). Christ’s teaching was primarily directed to believers, but the principle can be applied to anyone. Jesus does expect us to “deal with the speck” in our friend’s eye, particularly our brothers and sisters in Christ. He wants us to discern sin in others so we can help them get rid of it. The purpose of judging someone else’s weakness is to help him or her walk in freedom (1 Corinthians 5:12). But how can we help someone else if we are not free? We must first be willing to look honestly at our own lives and exercise the same judgment toward ourselves. When we do this, we judge from a position of humility. Jesus’s statement to “judge not lest you be judged” zeroed in on the problems of spiritual hypocrisy and self-centered pride. He compared these offenses to giant logs that blind us to our own faults while we laser in on shortcomings in others." www.gotquestions.org/judge-not-lest-you-be-judged.html

I love cliff but I'm not with him about hating a man not being comparable to murder because Jesus did say "I know you have heard thou shall not murder, but I tell you this. if you hate your brother you have committed murder in your heart" So I am conflicted when I hear him say there is a difference. Though, I do agree there is a clear difference because the consequences of those sins are different. Great video though.

@@ricklamb772 lol so many words to say so little, lots of ASSERTIONS but no "evidence" 🤔 How could any rational person possibly think that a god decided that the best way for him to be able to forgive man, for being evil & immoral by breaking rules that god knew in advance that they would break when he made those rules and created evil. Was to send a version of himself down to earth then sacrifice himself to himself. Thus preventing his need to punish his creations for something their ancestors did before they knew the difference between right and wrong. 🤔 ??????? ☝️☝️ I mean just actually think about that for a minute 🤔🤔🤔 This has to be THE most illogical ideology imaginable, it fails on just about every conceivable level. But then again I supose that's to be expected when its origins lie in the myths , knowledge, and world views of superstitious, uneducated, primative, child sacrificing, tribesmen. But I digress, so anyway just who is it that gets punished for this "ORIGINAL SIN " ? Well that's really rather confusing isnt it, firstly the snake (supposedly the devil) gets punished by having to crawl on its belly for the rest of its days. EXCEPT that the devil is later frequently discribed as "walking around " (an incredible achievement for a paraplegic) indeed he has no problem whatsoever scaling "unusually high mountains" demonstrating skills that would make a Nepalese sherpa green with envy 🤢🤢🤔 Then adam and eve lose their eternal life, except that if they were already eternal why did god also put a tree of eternal life in the garden and ban them from eating from it ?? 🤔🤔 Then of course we have Adam's decendants being punished for it, which seems highly illogical & imoral to me. 🤔 But to be fair the bible seems a little confused on the matter also 👇👇👇👇 The Lord...visits the iniquity of the fathers on the children and the children’s children, to the third and the fourth generation. (Exodus 34:6-7 = Deuteronomy 5:8-10) ............................vrs.................. The son shall *not* suffer for the iniquity of the father, nor the father suffer for the iniquity of the son. (Ezekiel 18:20, cf. Jeremiah 31:30) You know to me that whole original sin biblical narative ( forbidden fruit ect ) seems analogous to me putting a loaded shotgun in a toddlers cot telling them not to touch it, and then being surprised when I hear a *BANG* 💥 and I'm not even omniscient 🤣😅🤣😅 But does this vicarious redemption ( scapegoating) solve the problem and lead to a just and moral solution ?? Well imagine a girl gets raped, they catch the rapist and he gets found guilty in court. The judge sentences him to life, but then says to him "dont worry I will serve your sentence for you" Has the rapist recieved JUSTICE ??? Has the raped girl received JUSTICE ??? Of course not yet that is precisely what happens under the Christian vicarious redemption (scapegoating) Nonsense ideology 🤬🤬 Infact it's an actual Tennant of christianity that even a child murder can be forgiven and go to heaven, if they but repent and believe. 🤮🤮 Your god CANNOT be both perfectly just and perfectly merciful. Mercy is by definition a suspension of justice.

What is to keep us from murdering? How do we know murder is wrong? That's right judgment, not judgy or judgemental but in order to ensure that we don't become murderers we will have to look at a murder and judge that their actions are evil and wrong or most likely we will not see that it is actually 100% wrong. God says judge righteously, He didn't say don't judge one another, that's a falicy. Just like money isn't evil, judging one another isn't evil. Unless, unless you make it evil. I can be a good steward with my money or I can go out and buy drugs with it. I can righteously judge my neighbor or I can judge them on their outside appearance. If I meet a woman and she turns out to leave me for another man but could have avoided this future pain if I just would have judged her when I noticed her with a wedding ring on before I got serious with her.

I appreciate the work I see Cliffs doing. However, much of his response to the guy 19:00 minutes in is not Biblically accurate. He is using terms created by Thomas Aquinas. Biblically, there is no category called "moral law." The Bible breaks laws down into laws, commandments, declarations, judgments, statues, etc. He has no good response contextually or linguistically in brushing aside what the Bible actually says.

I know most churches say that all sin is equal.whatever.But is murder here on earth,the same as shop lifting? WELL ARE LAWS ARE MODELED AFTER THE 10 COMMANDMENTS ,Gods law for man.And it don't matter anyway .If you surrender your life to God Abd Jesus,follow their commands,and because of your new birth,which is to say,an infusion of the Holy Spirit into your spirit that brings you into a new reality,when you realize the old you was just a skin sack of gafbage,garbage, by the power of God you are transformed into a new in Christ,that is to say,His ways become your ways ,what He loves ,you love.what He hates,you hate,you become the opposite of who you used to be,and now you can hear ,Gods voice for instruction,and direction.

Hi Carl, I'm skeptical of the claim that Jesus *did* die on the cross for all mankind's sin, does that make me a bad person if I genuinely don't believe that story. If I do something wrong, then I wouldn't want someone else paying for something that I'd done, i think it's more honest to accept responsibility for our own mistake's, it's also a good learning curve and makes us into better people.

Cliff, I'm convinced that you don't understand the Bible, Jesus Christ the Lord says, if you hate your brethren you have murdered in my eyes. So you're saying Jesus was just talking to hear Himself.. if you lust after a woman, you have committed adultery with her in your heart... Cliff it's important that you know what you're talking about.. You saying that Jesus never said hate is equal to murder, you are wrong.. We know that nothing we can do to save us, it's only the finished work of Jesus Christ the Lord...

@JohnjOcampo of course I would be upset, probably want to kill the person. But that doesn't change what God tells us. I'm just human, I'm not perfect. I'm forgiven for my sins because Jesus Christ took my punishment for me. It's what the Bible says, I'm not making it up.

Cliffe makes some interesting points, here is one of the problems with Christianity as I see it. To take an extreme example, lets say the guy who drove that truck last week in France and mowed down and killed over 80 innocent civilians, lets say the cops didn't shoot him dead, lets take a scenario whereby he actually drove off and parked up, then it dawned on him the sheer horror of what he'd done, and he *genuinely* prayed to God for forgiveness and for Jesus to accept him as a sinner. As I understand it, if you are genuine, and lets say this guy was, according to Christian scripture, he would go to heaven. Now lets say all those people he killed were all non believers going to an atheist convention, as I understand it, because they all reject Christ ( as i do), they will all be going to an eternal hell. So, the mass killer goes to heaven, and all the atheists go to hell in that scenario, according to Christian scripture. If so, this does seem unfair that the killer gets rewarded, and the atheists get punished. Other scenario's are available.
@777JesusChristisLord8 жыл бұрын
Well that's not up to us to judge who goes to heaven it's up to God but yes if he honestly and whole heartedly repents then God is merciful and just to forgive him that's why we should be getting right with God before its to late you never know how much time you have left we take each second for granted.
@bonnie43uk8 жыл бұрын
Charles Pollock Yes, I wasn't asking you to judge, but rather that whether the Christian doctrine stated that sinners ( no matter if they'd killed, raped, tortured people), would go to heaven if they *genuinely* repent. That's not something I have a big problem with. It's the other aspect of the scenario I find troubling, that people who have lived a fairly mundane life, lets say these people who were killed were doctors, nurses, teachers, carers, for their unbelief, they get hell in whatever form that takes. As I said, the killer gets rewarded, and the non believers get an eternity of hell, regardless of whether they've devoted their lives to helping others less fortunate than themselves. Nothing you've said has made me think I'[d better get right with God, I cannot force myself to believe in something I see no credible evidence for. Surely it's better to be honest with myself.
@jeremymathews21108 жыл бұрын
+bonnie43uk that's because God has to be consistent with his character i.e his Justice... a lot of people may have lived a genuinely good life but even we've all done wrong and thus we deserve hell... but I thank Christ who showed his grace to me; the worst of all sinners
@jeremymathews21108 жыл бұрын
+bonnie43uk So you have a problem with hell.I can understand that... but here's the point... because we've done wrong,we can't be with God who is all holy... He's doesn't send anyone to hell... He's given us a free will and if we exercise and say"I don't need you God"... he respects your dignity and free will and hell is where you go which is separate from God... the truly inhumane thing would be to force everyone into his presence and over ride our free will... so look to Christ who died for you... because we've done wrong, we need a saviour... That is Jesus Christ...it's your choice... but choices have consequences Good Luck and God Bless😀
@bonnie43uk8 жыл бұрын
Jeremy Mathews Absolutely i have a problem with hell, being raised a Christian it scared the heck out of me as a little child, and that fear followed me into adulthood. Being told by grown adults that you are going to burn in hell unless you accept God is not a good thing. You say I have a choice, to either accept Jesus as my savior, or to go to hell, well, that comes across as a veiled threat, accept Jesus or you don't even want to consider the consequences if you don't. Surely God would want me to be honest with myself at the end of the day, or would he prefer I lie and say I accept Jesus, when I know deep down inside I don't. But you seem to missing the bigger picture here Jeremy, it's the sheer concept of any sentient being, having to endure a punishment that has absolutely no end, I cannot think of any human being that would deserve such a punishment, no matter what bad things they had done, you don't even have the dignity of being allowed to die and rest in peace, even after billions of years your sentence will hardly have begun. Imagine if it was your own mother who lost her faith, and she ended up in hell, how could you as a person enjoy your time in heaven, knowing that she was in some kind of eternal hell?, Ah, you may say to me, in heaven all you know is goodness and love, well, if that is the case, whoever that is in heaven, it's not you. As human beings we all possess empathy and a desire to look after one another. I lost my own mother to cancer 6 months ago, she was a wonderful lady who only enhanced the lives of anyone who met her, unlike my father, she was not religious and she did not accept Jesus as her savior, as I see it now, she is simply resting in peace, to even suggest she is in hell is an abhorrent thought which reviles me. Nobody that has ever lived deserves a punishment that has no end. No matter who they are or what they have done. If God is all loving then how can he create a place in which he knows his creation are suffering?

Respectfully, I disagree. That's why God has different sacrifices depending upon what sinnyou did. As well as sin is put into categories, for example, there's sin of omission, sin of commission, iniquity, sexual and abomination. Each category has a different sacrifice since they're not all equal. And a final thought, if sin were all equal, that means stealing a pencil from work is the same as raping a newborn baby. And I don't know anyone who believes that.
