Program 1420
Cliffe Knechtle has a great conversation with college students at a campus in the southwest US. Recorded Nov. 2019
The "Give Me An Answer" ministry began as an outgrowth of the dialogues Cliffe Knechtle has had with students on various university campuses throughout the United States. These universities include the University of Maine, Harvard, MIT, University of Florida, University of Texas, University of Wisconsin, University of Minnesota, University of California Los Angeles, University of California San Diego, Berkeley, Stanford, University of Hawaii and the University of Washington. Cliffe spoke on these campuses in front of the Student Union or Library at noon for five to ten minutes. At the close of his initial remarks, he'd open up the time for questions and answers, which usually turned into a two to four hour dialogue with students. His crowd size ranged from 25 - 500 students at a time, and between classes, new students would join the discussion. This is an extremely effective way to reach a large number of university students with the Gospel of Christ.

Cliff doesn’t rip people apart. The person inevitably doesn’t really know enough about the subject and they ask a question and then try to contradict the answer Cliff gives. Therefore their lack of knowledge on the subject is exposed. These people have presumptions when they ask the question and the answer Cliff gives blows their presumptions and biases out of the water. This is their hypocrisy, they can’t accept the eye witness accounts of Jesus Christ but can accept the eye witness accounts of Alexander the Great, who lived well before Christ was born. Their presumption is because it’s about Jesus Christ you can’t trust the accounts. That’s straight up Satan. Satan and his lies. Jesus is an eye witness when it comes to Satan. Read His eye witness testimony about Satan John 8:44.

"Paul personally affirms that Jesus appeared to him, so this is firsthand testimony, Paul didn't just pick up list of strangers on the street. The leading view is that he got it directly from eyewitnesses Peter and James themselves, and he took great pains to confirm it accuracy." How do you know that? Paul received this material 3 years after his conversion, when he took a trip to Jerusalem and met with Peter and James. Galatians 1:18-19 where he uses the Greek word historeo. Why is this significant? "Because this word indicates that he didn't just casually shoot the breeze when he met with them. It shows it was a investigative inquiry. Paul was playing the role of an examiner, someone who was carefully checking this out." Gary Habermas The case for Christ by Lee Strobel

I absolutely agree with your take on Cliffe, it’s very well put, thanks for that, and I think what we all like about what you say and his winning style, is also the way he keeps it simple and doesn’t complicate it. And it’s this along with his likeable personality, Stewart’s too, that’s expressed in rich speaking tones, certainly not a poor mouth, that entreats us to reason with him, presumably similar to Paul the apostle’s way of reasoning with the Jews in the synagogue, or even a lawyer pleading his case, provoking or challenging the jury to think much more deeply on a certain matters. It’s nice to see that he’s got all the answers or lots of good answers that pertain to God and Jesus Christ, isn’t it. He’s taught us a lot particularly how to defend the gospel of Jesus Christ. Personally I think that even though it’s counter intuitive to do so, we can greatly benefit from decreasing ourselves so that God may increase. If we are going to be real we will realise that as great as we are, which is light years greater than the snails and the whales, we are nothing compared to God. And that’s a little hard to take because nobody wants to be nothing, therefore most of us won’t take it. However our greatness has certain limits whereas God’s greatness is without limitations, so much so that we are nothing compared to Him. His greatness cannot be contained because it’s in the realm of infinity itself. There’s no limit to the greatness of God but also there’s no limit to the knowledge of God. What He is is never ending. Maybe you can figure me out in 5 minutes but understanding God takes forever. I think if we truly allow ourselves to realise that we are nothing compared to God, and that’s not an easy to do, maybe as a speck compares itself to the universe, we will see our need for Christ, our great high priest, who is God in a form that we can all relate to. And instead of seeming far off we are close to Him as friends. A real true caring friend that loves us. The cross proves this doesn’t it. Isn’t this an interesting time we are living in? Here I am writing to you, another believer, via the Internet, talking like pen pals, in a way which wouldn’t have been possible not that long ago. I’m in New Zealand. Where are you? Are you a Kiwi too or are you from somewhere else? Or is that best kept a secret?

Loving others as they are you is contained within loving God with your all. Atheistically, one could arrive at the same conclusion by observing the continuity of the universe and acting on all as though all is a part of themselves. Both religion and atheism have conceived this sort of "ghost in the machine" concept of separation where we imagine ourselves a separate being from the rest of existence. We have yet to discover this "separate being" in either materialist or spiritual pursuits. Love fulfills the total law and is simply the acceptance of other as self.

Unbelievers don’t get it. If you don’t believe God and don’t live God’s morality but your own nothing you do is wrong. So robbing , killing, lying none of those things are wrong to do. So relative morality says I am the only one who is right and whatever I decide to do is right, no matter who I hurt. I am never wrong. That’s idolatry, no matter how you want to say it.
@fukpoeslaw3613
@fukpoeslaw3613 Жыл бұрын
I'm an atheist, I don't think (or feel) that morality is relative at all. It's not always easy to fathom what is the right thing to do and I think it's also subjective, but not relative. Furthermore it's not obvious at all that under theism morality is suddenly different. I can imagine a god could have a clearer view on it, but a god can't decide what is good and what not. It's like logic, also almighty gods can't change logic (can god make a stone so big that ... etc.) I know the man in the film states that logic comes from god, that's about the weirdest thing I ever heard or tried to imagine, probably the weirdest)

To the first guy . Cliff has made this point numerous times and I’m glad that it’s always a different person and sometimes a different crowd . Intellectual hypocrisy is the beginning of ALL hypocrisy. Because like Cliff said , it’s real easy to just ignore . What baffles me is the people in the comment section that keep ignoring this whole point with no solid reason, just opinions. A second to intellectual hypocrisy is double standards. The atheist not only demands objective evidence but they demand subjective ,objective evidence from a theist . They always want some special type and amount of evidence but also want it to be objective 🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️ if they had any of these standards to any kind of historical figure they would not believe in nearly 3/4 of historical figures they believe in . Also, as soon as you find any objective truth that points towards some type of a God , they use relative opinions to disagree. The second to last guy is definitely in his early stages of KZbin atheism . Which is not based on truth or evidence , but in poking holes and that’s it . This is why after evidence is asked they shut down , and usually on KZbin comments they turn hostile or just ignore you .Bless his soul . I hope he learns to look more into the evidence and realize , what you are not looking for will probably not find you , so if you have already presupposed that God doesn’t exist , of course then miracles don’t exists . But that’s a presumption, which atheists often love to call out , yet they blatantly make arguments against miracles but don’t know if there is a God or not ! 🤦🏾‍♂️

The vast majority of historical figures we have good evidence for Fred, that's not the case with Jesus. During his life and ministry, when he was supposedly performing amazing feats and wonders, not a single person wrote about him while he was alive... including his own followers. That is an historical *fact* It takes a certain amount of belief to believe a man could fly, and came from above the clouds. 2000 years ago that may well have seemed plausible, but not today... unless of course you've been raised to believe that from birth. We know the exact birthdate of Julius Ceasar and the exact day of his death, and we have clear images of his face on statues and coins. What day was Jesus born and died?
@Kimkong2
@Kimkong2 3 жыл бұрын
@@bonnie43uk oh You mean Ceasar , of which two of the most important manuscripts were written over 100 years after his death ?! And of course you will have his day of birth and death , he was a major ruler !!! That information has to be stored up. So lemme get this straight because Jesus had no face on a coin or something like that and we don’t know the exact day of His death and Birth but they are the most celebrated of days you don’t consider the manuscripts?!!! Have you even read my post ? This is why I’ve stopped taking you seriously Tom , the post literally called to the intellectual hypocrisy and ridiculous double standards of you KZbin atheists . You want subjective objective evidence and you just showed it by once again ignoring context. You don’t look for the same evidence for every kind of person Tom . You can’t cherry pick evidence especially historical evidence . Nearly all scholars agree to an empty Tomb . Where they disagree is the reason it is empty . Which also is ridiculous and evidence of bias against the supernatural. Has nothing to do with evidence, just bias . But as usual of you and other KZbin atheists Tom , all of us Christians were just born and taught this and cannot think for ourselves. All of us except you , you who was so smart to just figure it out all by yourself. Unfortunately Tom , you and the second guy are the same in intellectual hypocrisy, difference is the young man is still young and his youth can be a reason for the naive way of thinking , you on the other hand are still clinging to arguments of a young man which you are definitely not. You don’t have to believe in Jesus , nobody does , but just remember, if He is who He says or who the writers said He was , the consequences will not change because you chose not to believe . Because I know like a child again , you hold the thought process that “if I don’t believe it then i don’t have to deal with it’s consequences.” Of course you don’t hold this belief with anything else apart from God because it’s obviously foolish to not be looking for something , and then conclude that because you didn’t see or find it then it doesn’t exist. At least the kid could actually be innocently ignorant , you are hopelessly ignorant because you revel in this ignorance willingly . This whole video was for you , you ignored even the manuscript evidence and how close it was to Jesus’ time and gave an example of Ceasar whose manuscripts are well over 100 years after His death . Your baseless intellectual pride will keep you ignorant by making you think you know . Good day Tom .

First of all Fred in St Paul excellent job excellent job that you Fred where is Heidi Express Lee friend because Fred really gave a long dialogue to what time deserve to hear specifically today Saint Paul's already been trying to do it for a long time just as I have. Try to both of you I wish I could explain to you why I'm going to try to stay off your but I know it's kind of hard all I know is there's too much evil going on and right now it's not healthy for me and if God tells me it's not healthy for me it's not healthy. Second of all, and this is not for Paul or Strat but if they want to hear this that's good there is records of Jesus's birth and there is records of Jesus death but since you don't know your Bible Tom you don't pay attention to crap. As far as his birth the reason why it is celebrated as the 25th of December only because of paganism clearly paganism. That does not mean that uses first wasn't wholly or important but if you reach reference scripture of when Elizabeth was given birth of John the Baptist verses when Mary was going to give birth to Jesus to 6 months apart and if you read when Elizabeth gives birth and you add to 6 months it's actually right around September and I need another reason why you can do that is to get the shepherd offers usually do what they do around September not December is over evidence to but those are two points I wanted you to know look up Tom pay attention use your brain for once. Jesus's death is easy to trace because he was died or killed on the cross street of me after preparation day separation day was that Friday or Passover Sabbath and he died little leave at night into Saturday Saturday the Sabbath when she slept which is also why I recognize Sabbath is Saturday not a Sunday but that's a different discussion not because I'm Jewish because I'm not, anywho, when Jesus died on Sabbath and Rose on Sunday morning that was that time of that Passover way Easter began and we know when Easter begins now Easter is also a pagan holiday but I don't care right now we're talkin about timeframes not holidays the fact is that is right around that Springtime of March and April that's how you can know when he died of that year can if you want to know the year Tom you look it up I can tell you the year he died I can tell you the year he bought he was born I know the time because I study my scriptures but I'm not doing everything for you Tom you lazy ass stop Line stop telling people the wrong stop telling people you know what you're talkin about you're a hypocrite you're a complete fraudTom goodbye.

I disagree with Cliffe. I was an alcoholic, drug user and I smoked cigarettes, WAS. I didn't need chemicals, I didn't need a psychiatrist nor did I need to be locked away to break free from these addictions. It only took God, coming to the end of myself and applying His Word to my every day life and I was then able to break every single one of them addictions at the same time. Hold on, I was also a womanizing fornicator and that to was broken and yes it took only praying, as in constant communication with God and through the power of the Holy Spirit and love of Christ to break em. We keep putting limits to what God can accomplish within us, even cliffe is doing it. We can do all things through Jesus Christ whom gives me the Holy Spirit/strength! This is where it starts, if you apply this scripture to your life you will break free from anything, even depression! Psalm 1:1-2 King James Version 1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. 2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

I am sorry to burst your bubble but there are streets in this country where if you walk down them at night you will get jumped from behind, beat to a pulp, all of your valuables will be taken and they will leave you there to die if not found. You can find these mean streets in: Cleveland, Detroit, Chicago, Baltimore, Miami, L.A., N.Y., Dallas, Memphis, Cincinnati......on and on. It is not true people just want to be good. Some people just want to beat you up, rob you of your $5.00 and get away with it without being caught. The most important thing to them is not being caught. And as great as we are in this day and age we are no greater than the great thinkers when intellectuals like Plato and Socrates were around.
