@@theyneverknow Actually no! As someone with two attempts on my record, the second time I posed that question to a friend who was with me on the phone (though I was going to slit my wrists instead). She gave a response really similar to OP's, telling me that my asking for a reason meant death felt unavoidable to me, not like something I actually wanted. It genuinely helped me and of course she did say other things to keep me safe before someone could get to me, but that question made me actually sit back and think. I'm not suicidal now (still at risk but I'm trying to get into a better place) and one of the most common things I say to myself when I start dipping back down is, "I'm worried I'm going to kill myself, and as long as I know I'm worried, I know I don't truly want to do it." It helps me get through hard days. So this is actually a pretty great response to that! It just needs to be followed up by help in a short period of time.

Joshua Jalius “It was like being on patrol with a flipping 2 year old.” “Look he was a funny old looking bald hanging around a school gate” “Kevin he was a lollipop man” “That’s it I’m just wasting my time, I think I’m going to pack it in. I think I’m leaving the patrol.” “Well that’ll make him jump nothing else does.” “ I may require a woman officer, Kaylee come with me.” “Huh, I reckon she hates me now. I reckon she thinks I’m a prat.” “Well how did you work that out.” “It was something she said, she said I hate you Kevin I think you’re a prat.” “You’ve got to bring a bottle of champagne, and a bit of chocolates then reach in for the bunker. Gets them all the time, the knickers stripper.” “Oh you care about me now, nobody respects me nobody cares about me I’m a nothing. And nobody, friendless and alone.” “But the same thing can be said about the prime minister. And he leads a full and active life.” “Give me one full reason not to jump.” “That’s a public pavement, others have to use that pavement and they should not be required to circumnavigate your body to do so.” “I seem to have exhausted my powers of persuasion.” “Remember me, you say nobody cares about you but that’s a lie. Is that true, it was true. But I can see now it’ll be running away. Just like you’re running away now. “It shouldn’t make you either, he took your video but he can’t take your spirit.” “For god sake what are you waiting for I’ve never heard something more well put in my life. Get off that ledge this instance.” “It wasn’t your fault the silly fool jumped.”

Look up both Thin Blue Line and Blackadder. You will not find a comedian who can wring such comedic genius out of the pronounciation of the name... "Bob"... If I recall it stems from a well hidden speech impendament...
