I think people commenting about how elders should respect children, need to understand that in the South - gifting a saree is a very personal gesture. No matter how close a friend he is, a man who is not a girl’s father, husband, son, brother or uncle doesn’t gift sarees or jewellery to women. I think Bollywood should stop making films on the south simply because you guys don’t do enough research about the culture in the South. What this girl did is highly inappropriate and the story line seems pathetically unaware of reality. No wonder the film bombed

@@kirshverma9802 the only problem evident here is your incomplete understanding of South India’s culture and practices. Gestures and practices are not wrong, they’re there for a reason and we people don’t have any problem living our lives. Why should the Hindi film industry find faults in our lifestyle when our people themselves don’t have any problem with it ? If you’re not Tamizh, please don’t care to have an opinion on our culture. If you want to, get your facts right. Contrary to your idea - South Indian girls are far more educated and successful. In this movie, the girl is shown to be doing nothing in our in-laws place, where as South Indian women are not just successful doctors, advocates and engineers but top notch entrepreneurs and administrators.
